Have not seen any threads so far with photos of the show. Anyone?

I think it's the good place to see more pics ! 212 Inter coupé Vignale # 0219EL copyright M.Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login
The 0219EL was the only Ferrari of this period I have seen with vinyl seats, not vinyl that looks like leather but a certain machine stamped looking material. Was the interior replaced? What was put in it? Finding a good match probably wasn't easy. john
Jim Glickenhaus's 206 Dino Prototype being judged. Afterwards, Mr. Glickenhaus was kind enough to show a little boy around his beauty, sharing his knowledge with him. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sir Jackie Stewart holding court for the press and photographers. He exchanged caps with the gentleman in front of him briefly. Does anyone know why? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
This gentleman kindly allowed me to take his photo sporting his dawn patrol cap, which means he was one of the early ones stumbling around in the dark and arriving with the autos at 4:30 AM. Hagerty gives these out to those enthusiastic few who make the effort and are generously rewarded with few spectators, the rising sun, and the elite engines making their special kind of music. Was fortunate enough to see and hear this magnificent line up of historic automobiles waiting to receive rewards. The yellow/red 1958 250 Testa Rossa at one time belonged to John R. "Buck" Fulp, who commissioned the home in South Carolina where I live today. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
My first year, too. It was incredible, and I reflect your sentiments exactly. Next year I think I will stay a month.
Oh, in which one were you driving or riding? Glad I could somehow thank YOU for taking the time, energy, funds, expertise, and everything else it requires to present a motorcar at Pebble. Very difficult task, I would imagine.
X1000 THANK YOU, all of you for bringing your cars from such long distances, especially regarding how valuable they are so that we could see them and have unforgettable memories! We salute you! Chris
Actually the car on the left corner of your picture, ( sorry this time not a Ferrari, but a 300S Maserati) with number 10, sitting next to THJ and our MM! The most difficult part was to have the car ready for the show as we raced it as late as early July at Le Mans and had to put back the original engine, put back the original gas tank instead of the FIA one and prepare cosmetically the car so it landed in LA (some of our friends were on the same plane) just Saturday , a week before the show. And as we don't have a local workshop we had to buy some cosmetic products to prepare the car for the tour, after the tour etc...but it was a lot of fun. After more than 10 consecutive PB as a spectator and more non consecutive, my first one as an entrant , luckily there was a racing class!!was a fantastic and rewarding experience as we finished Second in class behind the ex Fangio car. In the process of course we met a lot of friends, and made new friends, the funniest event being in the Tour d elegance where we were driving at quite a good speed ( never stay ahead or behind a pre war car, they stop uphill and have no brakes downhill,,) and after a while it seemed there were less and less people around,,,at a traffic light a 275GTB/4 stopped next to us, and with the window down a sweet voice said " I think we missed a left turn" ,,,it was Sir Jackie Steward, coming at our rescue. So we, he, and 2 TR (as everyone was confidently following us and we did not know we had a road book in the package,,) made a full U turn in a 4 lane road,,,and went back to Laguna Seca and passed everyone else to insure we would be the first ones around the circuit,,and we managed. After that we exchanged very nice words with Sir Jack and his son Paul, talking among other things of the mountains of Switzerland!!
What an awesome story! It is so good to know the background and what you had to go through to show your work of art, and I imagine that is only the tip of the iceberg. I looked through my photos and found this one. Image Unavailable, Please Login
After Monterrey I flew directly to South America and only now I am able to post something. Laguna Seca was very good and I will always enjoy attending the Vintage Races. Concorso Italiano was a different story.....I will probably not return to the CI simply because it is over priced, I can see those cars in many other places, the interesting vendors were absent and it is not interesting anymore. Pebble Beach was fantastic as usual....the group of Testarossas was amazing, and I enjoyed every minute of it. My only complaint about PB was the absence of the large memorabilia shop we were "forced" to walk through as we entered the event. I had always enjoyed going through that shop and looking for books, model cars, PurSang folks, posters, etc. The Vintage Motorcycle auction also disappeared for some reason. Claudio the "large automobilia shop you were forced to walk thru" in the past has all been moved to SPANISH BAY, several miles north on 17-mile-drive. Completely stupid as nobody has the time to go there during the extremely busy Pebble Beach and Monterey week, unless you have a room right at Spanish Bay hotel. This year Ben Horton's Bookshop was the ONLY one allowed to have a store right at the entrance to the PB concours. As you could see the polo field next to Gooding's tent has also been re-arranged, due to the construction of another new golf course and club house. There is just not enough room for everything and that's why the PB organizers decided to have the automobilia show now at Spanish Bay. Not sure if this was a wise idea. However, much better and more interesting is usually Tony Singer's fantastic "Automobilia Expo" held since many years on Tuesday and Wednesday morning of the MRY week at Embassy Suites hotel in Seaside, north Monterey. I went to CI too, and I can see where you are coming from. While there were Italian cars as far as the eye could see, there was not enough rare stuff. There were (and I'm not exaggerating here) probably 50-60 Ferrari 360s and 25 to 30 Ferrari 308s. Like you said, I can see those here in Michigan. I liked the show though, especially seeing all the cars leaving! Chris
at c.i would like to see more of the old swap meet types of booths to find hard to find parts/ memorabilia.
Sellers of hard to find parts and memorabilia are rare these days and especially not willing to pay the often highly inflated prices for a booth or table for just one day. That's why I recommend to visit Tony Singer's fabulous Automobila Expo at Hotel Embassy Suites in Seaside, north Monterey, always Tuesday and Wednesday morning of the MRY week. Marcel Massini
I will post a lot of images from the events within a few days . I am editing down 1500 photos from the Tour de Elegance & Pebble Beach, The Quail and Concourso Italiano, including all of the TR 's.
Thank you for taking the time to post your photos. Would love to see them. It was one of the top five events I have ever attended (maybe the very top). So much going on, and luckily a friend pointed my BFF and I in the right direction the first night. We had a long "TO DO & SEE LIST," and managed to get around to most of it. Can't wait for next year when Ferrari holds their national meet shortly thereafter.
