    Yes it would.

But it would definitely be the number one funniest thing I've ever read on FChat!

If that was so, just post a paypal link and I'd pitch a few bucks your way just for the laughs...I'd bet a thousand others would do the same. So either way, you win!!!

I'm actually thinking you'll have a fine car on your hands to rejuvenate.

Just a thought...if I had this Ferrari "under my skin and etched in my brain" why not drive 45-60 minutes to go check it out? It might not even roll onto a flatbed...

    Ciao!

A better deal if it is a fiero. It's in your snack bracket, can be fixed Inexpensively, and you can enjoy it.

Hey I'm in England!! And I can tell you for 2000 bucks for a 308 Ferrari I'd fly over to the USA with paddles and a sail in my case.
Then I'd grab the car, silicone up the doors and windows and sail it back!!

Based upon further research I am thinking an aftermarket catalytic converter from Magnaflow will both be legal and the cheapest way to get the catalytic converters fixed on 2 valve cars. At $179.53 for a CA approved cat I can't find any downside.

Ones that work for all 2 valve 308s: (need two)
33206: MagnaFlow Catalytic Converters - 49-STATE & CANADA Catalytic Converters For Trucks, Suv's, American Muscle, Diesel, & Sport Compact Vehicles

332005: MagnaFlow Catalytic Converters - 49-STATE & CANADA Catalytic Converters For Trucks, Suv's, American Muscle, Diesel, & Sport Compact Vehicles

Here is one that list that it is approved and works with a QV: Some caution with this one. It is listed as CA legal on many sites but looking up the executive order (EO) number reveals the that the EO that allowed for the exemption has been withdrawn.
    FE84302: http://www.discountconverter.com/direct_fit_catalytic_converters/direct_fit_links.cfm?YearSelected=1982&MakeofCar=FERRARI&ModelOfCar=308%20GTS&CylSelected=8

Here is the checklist for installing an aftermarket catalytic converter in CA on a pre-OBDII car. http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermktcat/amcatchklist.pdf

I put the magnaflow cat on my QV about a year ago to pass CA smog. It was purchased though a company that fitted it with the proper connectors so it bolted right on.

I recently recommended it to a friend who discovered as you noted that apparently it's approval has been withdrawn.

Bottom line is that it does not seem to be CA approved as of a few months ago.

I could go on a rant about CARB and 30 year old cars but there's no point....

Ok Dubels, this is what should have transpired on Saturday:

-pick up trailer from Uhaul with winch/come-a-long
    -drive 1 1/2 hours
-exchange 2k for possession of a Ferrari 308 before the current owner realizes he is taking a $15,000-$20,000 bath on his "shoe rack"
    - load car and drive home smiling all the way
    - post pics to prove story, otherwise I call BS

will gladly eat my words if this story pans out

One second after a call on a 2000 dollar Ferrari 308, I'd be on my way. NINETY MILES- HUH? that's NOTHING. An hour and a half drive and no posts yet?? You actually DESERVE to have this car sold out from under your deal. Do you still have blood flowing through your veins?
It's SUNDAY with no word yet?

I FLEW four thousand miles to see the last Ferrari I bought. The trips to the airport added up to more than 90 miles.

I know a guy that buys products from my business. He tells me he's got a 2003 360 in great shape that he bought from an estate sale for $7000. Don't have the heart to call him out on it. LOL..
