I inquired about having them stitched over and was told this could not be done on embossed leather. Headrests replacement with stitched logos was $800 here locally, so I figured that was my downside risk.

So I took an assortment of fine tip and regular black sharpies to the job. Outlined the outside and then filled in the middle. Leather was waxy so it took a couple of applications. Gotta admit I was pretty nervous, but only out $800 if I totally blew it.

Might try rollerball pens if I did it again.

800$ is the price for one or two headrests with sitched horses?

Please upload some high resolution pics from different angles.

Sounds like a bargain to me.
Sure this isn't the price for the option "stichted horse"?

This is the price quoted to me by a exotic car upholstery shop in Scottsdale AZ. Total replacement of headrests leather.

The only downside to what you have done is if you have blonde hair you might end up with a black horse facing the other way on the back of your head!

.... even though it's permanent marker. I would try to seal it with a clear leather sealant.
Just to prevent from bleeding if some water or sweat finds its way to the cavalinho.
