    he seemed to be more popular with IMSA drivers than IndyCar drivers....

    still, I think it's Indy's loss and IMSA's gain.

    what's really interesting is that he chose to leave IndyCar after what is being widely heralded as IndyCar's most successful year in 20 years.

    he was pretty unpopular with a number of top drivers in Indycar, and they were doing "race director by committee" there at the end. plus Indycar has a habit of eating their own (see also: Randy Bernard), so I'm not totally shocked. really it's just a sign of how far indycar has yet to go, even with a great season (big upticks in ratings, etc)

    No idea what these guys make. When you meet them though, they certainly are on
    a power trip.

    Reading about the story on Racer.com earlier, what is interesting is how close these
    character's names are.

    There is Beaux Barfield, Brian Barnhart, Randy Bernard, but surprisingly no Beau Brummell,
    all intertwined by the same jobs within sports cars and Indy Car.
