83 QV. Do I need to replace the grill if I swap out the bumper too? This relatively painless process. Figured few of you may have done this.

The grill should be swapped too. I've been thinking about getting these lightweight fiberglass ones. Pretty good deal if you don't plan on hitting anything.

The trick is with the brackets. The US and Euro brackets are not interchangeable, so it is a bit of a fab job to get Euro bumpers in there. The juice is most definitely worth the squeeze.

You can keep your old grille until you get a Euro one. There will be a gap at the top but... I'm making a Euro grille now from sheet aluminum and a jigsaw since I didn't feel like spending $2k for a used one. :(

I'm looking for somebody or a shop that can make a mold out of the original US bumper and make a Fiberglas US bumper front and rear so I can still have the original look but lighter weight.

    Mike -

I'd be in on a group buy there if you find someone. Was considering the same thing.

I can attest to the bracket fabrication issue. It took a couple of hours to get r done.
Also they do not come finished. Prep, prime and paint is required. However, as Ferraripilot explained, the result is worth it. Here's how mine turned out

Saw that original bumper long ago and have always thought it was a great way to get the license plate down off the back of the body. Thought of doing the same with my GTB and removing the rear body license plate indent, like the VRs...I think the lines are so nice that way. Most will think the car is posing, though...LOL!

    Ciao!

That turned out really nice. Looks like it could be OEM. Just need a euro license plate to go in the opening. ;-)

FWIW, I saw a pic of a Euro car online, man they are HOT. The recessed bumpers show off the grille and compliment the lines so much better than the US spec.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with my car. I originally wanted a 328, but I have to say that if I could have nabbed a Euro QV, that would have been best.

I ordered one (front) from Maranello Classic Parts in the UK a few months ago. The total was 270 pounds (so around $430) including packing and shipping via air freight which arrived at my door with 48 hours.

Hi, I live in the UK and both maranello classic and eurospares are asking just over £500 including VAT for new rear bumpers. So I'm not sure how you got it for £270 including delivery!! Was it new or used?
