so based on your information, all the references are wrong and night party crashers! you could answer to that numbers that they were not presented, but u just saying like: do your research again man! and without even take a look at that numbers. yup, i'm new "here" and that doesn't meen i'm not aware of this article or anything like that. just a friendly advice: try to be peaceful with opponents ; ) i'm not anyone else and that was not a crap, show me some respect man! more carefully? so everythings u say are just correct right?? you just refusal all of that references then show which one's match with your statement! "918 is God" and i know, if one day i show u both cars and the beat 918 with P1 in any condition u will say: no its just a dream, nobody can beat the Porsche. LOL and again my informations are incomplete and wrong. i can show u bunch of them, but i know they're wrong cuz they're opposite with your words! i asked you to be rational and u could just tell me ect: your'e wrong for this reason or this.. is that so hard or imposible?! you need to learn about how discussion with someone without any bias and respectfully ; ) -if driftwithme own both, just consider maybe he's right, and i believe he is. and maybe he had more experiences than you. ps: i'm not your'e enemy guyz, i swear LOL and we're not kid anymore^
My copy of EVO has dropped through the door, to save me the bother of checking to see where the times that will prove 918 is faster, could those with "insiders" tell me what page they're on?
I have a question. If the 918 is as exciting as the P1, how come that Steve Sutcliffe, Richard Meaden and Chris Harris was so much morr intimidated by the P1 than the 918 despite that they all drove the 918 first?
Unless they disable 4 wheel drive, shed 200 kg and ditch the brake regen, I highly doubt that it's ever going to be like a p1
What could they have been changing? I know that in the tests that Top Gear and EVO has come out with the 918 had the optional Weissach Package which we all know is a 40 kg drop in weight. But can just 40kg have so much impact on the performance?
So we won't know if this "newer" 918 is better than the "older" 918 until someone who has driven the "older" one gets another go..
I wrote it all down word for word , sorry I can't be bothered to find it it's somewhere in the minotaurs maze this thread has become . However the things I remember are the front engine revs faster and for longer now , the systems are better optimised and integrated , the electric engines "over boost " now ( ie produce more power during bursts like the 991 turbo s does ) , Porsche is typically conservative in their claims and the original test cars were not full power cars , I'm sure there was more but I lost interest in all this madness ages ago . I called these results months back but most people laughed and I have driven both had chance to buy both and bought one and several classics instead of the p1
Feeling of fast and actually going fast is 2 different thing. One can 'feel' fast even going not that fast. I 'feel' fast in my Speciale even at 80km/hr, the car makes all the right noises to gives you a sensory overload of speed. But I do not feel ANY speed at all in my FF going 220km/hr on stretches of highway. There is no sense of speed inside. Supple ride, quiet, stable, didn't take long to accelerate from around 150km/hr to 220km/hr. Didn't mean to go that fast, I was just pulling put to pass someone, I thought I was doing 180km/hr. The P1 'feels' fast. Like the Speciale, it makes all the right noises and the bare interior echo more sounds into your ears. The 918 is like the FF where it cocoons you with luxury yet is deceptive in it's speed.
OH MY GAWSH the 918 is DEFECTIVE. Porsche, in their attempts to shave off a few more tenths around the ring have put the customers in danger: Porsche 918 Spyder gets tiny recall for rear control arms - Autoblog And all the lap times set with those lightweight control arms are now invalid as the new beefier control arms which might have to be installed on 45 cars worldwide is a complete game changer.
The Agera R sucks incredibly when it comes to pure beauty, frontally and behind. It's just horrid, it reminds me of the sport cars of the 90s. Howere is seems to be excellently performing, I wonder why it has so little success
Because it's on the internet. Therefore EVERY car is being driven FLATOUT ALL THE TIME. Hopefully the sarcasm is understood.
listen, I'm not going to hold your hand through it all. 600 pages in this thread alone, and countless sources from the 'intuh-net'. No one said '918 is god', and your attitude clearly reflects your desire to fit a square peg into a round hole. you posted 'questions' in the form of 'outdated' video clips, one of which compared speedometer acceleration. Frickin' speedometers as a meaningful measurement? At the basic most level, anyone that has any basic working knowledge of cars knows that that's just way off kilter. You posted that the fastest 0-300km/h time that you've seen for 918 is 19.9, and I provided you with data that suggests that you clearly need to collect better info. Car & Driver, R&T, Autocar, AMS, Top Gear, they are some of Rags that have done full instrumented test. You can easily find much of the information for yourself instead of coming on here with asinine questions and giving me crap because you're not coddled?
I can go round and round all day with you. I am not filled with hate and anger, I have just developed zero tolerance for folks such as yourself. Your 'ownership' leveraged jabs and then dodging. Puny.
Facts are the P1 is the underachiever in all compartments. What's its USP? And don't tell me exclusivity or I'll sell you my painting for a cool 2 mills.
