I have a 2005 F430, just bought it, so not sure what the factory standards or options were, I am looking to get after market wheels, they asked me if I have TPMS on the wheels,, I don't think I do, did our cars come with it? I never seen anything on the dash showing tire pressure ..

I have it on my 2005 F430 Spider.
    It is an option.

When I cycle in the computer I see temp and then every step gives me the pressure of every tyre.
It is pretty accurate, checked it with a other device.

TPMS was optional on F430s and became standard on US F430s for the 08 MY.

I have it but wish I didn't. One of the sensors went bad and it cost me around 500 at the dealer to replace.

I would have ignored it but the giant error message in the center of the dash was always there.

That doesnt' count the 100 for the wrong one sent to me by Tire Rack . I lost the box at the first place that installed it so I couldn't return it. BTW don't bother trying to find one other than the dealer. They don't work.

Affirmative, you just have to know which ones fit. Early F430s were orange Huf-Beru RDE001s.

Its an option, If I go to the tire pressure "screen" on my dash it just reads null.

When I start the car its says "TPS Off" and goes away.

I wish I had known. the tire Rack people were completely lost and I called them a couple of times. I thought the dealer had to calibrate them. Hey I don't mind being wrong about this . Ill know for next time.

There are two ways to calibrate the TPMS sensors on an F430. The one owners use is the TPMS cal button and then a short drive. Or your tech's SD3 or equivalent can calibrate them without her having to be driven.

They are a total pain. I've had to replace three of them. They are Mercedes units, at 1/10 of the price Ferrari wants for them.

Art- They are Huf-Beru units and used by multiple manufacturers with their own part numbers. In general, if the RDE numbers match (ensures the correct frequency), source is irrelevant.

Didn't the TREAD Act mandate TPMS for all after Sept 2007?
Making TPMS standard just complies with the law but doesn't make them a leader in auto safety

Finitele- When are you going to learn to read? Nobody said they were leading the industry, just that they became standard on the F430 for the US MY 08. They were standard on the 575 for MY 2002 and on the 612 when introduced in 2003 in Europe. Just facts.
