Ha! That is definately NOT the case. Simply presented it to the world? You omit or forget all the bravado and hype before the car was released. And then the subsequent excuses afterwards when the car doesn't deliver. McLaren acted like WWF wrestlers before and then like whipped losers afterwards. No ring time, because, it's too scary, and then one excuse after another when the car doesn't match their claims. Porsche made no claims other than the car would showcase their technology and then provided the hard evidence in a verified ring lap record.

A 918 is a fantastic, crazy fast car. If you want to own one of the latest hypercar hybrids definitely consider one. It is extremely easy to drive due to al the electronic effort porsche has put. Keep in mind this has an effect on the connection as a driver. The brakes feel weird, car feels heavy when pushed. The grip is so high in this car you really have to push it to feel what I'm talking about.

If you want a more traditional drivers car then you will have as much fun in a 650s or the new 458 turbo. Depends if your looking for the latest gadget of a hyper car, or a rwd supercar that is as much fun or even more but at a fraction of the price.

The mother of all challenges. P1 vs LaFerrari vs Huayra. | Lovecars Blog
"Most car enthusiasts are passionate and proud about the cars they own and drive, but today I was copied on a couple of Instagram posts that took this to a different level.

Well known car collector, Kris Singh, has thrown down the gauntlet to any McLaren P1 or Ferrari LaFerrari owner to have a head to head showdown against his Pagani Huayra La Monza Lisa, on any track they choose within the USA.

The first post was on the official McLaren instagram page (@MCLARENAUTO) and the second message was on the official Ferrari USA page (@FERRARIUSA).

Kris Singh Pagani Huayra La Monza Lisa

Kris, known on Instagram as @LAMBORGHINIKS, is so confident that the Huayra is in a different class to the P1 or LaFerrari, he has offered this challenge, and backed it up in messages to me – with the only stipulation and caveat being it must be the owner of the car who drives.

We’ve all seen the pro’s such as Chris Harris and “The Stig” drifting cars around corners at breakneck speeds and lighting up tyres from various launch controls, but there is something superbly exciting about seeing regular owners, much like you and I (albeit in more expensive cars) putting their money with their mouth is and seeing what car comes out on top.

YOU MAY ALSO LIKE: First pictures of La Monza Lisa

Of course we all want this to happen, and we’ll be sure to film the whole thing and report back on what would be the ultimate road test… plus for anybody involved in arranging an owner of one of the other cars, we would be delighted to extended the invitation to you to attend (we’ll even buy you lunch!).

So please share this with anyone you know who owns a Ferrari LaFerrari and/or McLaren P1 and we will put together a showdown that would make Jeremy Clarkson blush.

Thr Pagani isn't even in the same league performance-wise.

That could depend on how much boost this particular Huayra has?

In terms of quality, build and detailing, the Pagani is a clear winner though.

If a car isn't stock, there is no meaningful comparison.

Also, define build quality. Dies it have the high tech carbon tub of the Ferrari?

He knows his car is slower than the LF/P1. But would still be cool to see it happen.

I'll be racing Kris in my P1. It would be great to also get a LaFerrari in the mix; ours is not going to arrive in time for the event.

Higher-tech actually. Carbon-titanium weave tub and the carbon-titanium in the rest of the car is as strong and substantially safer than traditional carbon-fiber which is prone to breakage/shearing into deadly debris in a collision.

The Huayra really is in a class of its own.

This is my first post here, so please be gentle. But is it really safe to "fully" compare the laf and p1 to the 918, considering that the laf and p1 are F1 styled machines and the 918 is a Le Mans styled machine?

Trying to do as badly as McLaren but they can't do even that...

To get serious again, even the worst F1 car is an engineering masterpiece!

He may be a slower driver than Ben but at the Ring HP's cars have been very fast. You think a La would be where at The Ring? I think HP's cars are 6:47 there. P1 fan boys claim 6:33 Ring Time but some of us remain doubtful.

6:33 isn't the correct time for the P1 at the Ring. It's close though.

Any of the Porsche spokespeople here aware of when they take their "new and impoved" 918 there to try and match or beat the abilities of the P1?

Or will it run out of battery even sooner now?

The Ring needs torque and acceleration more than pure horsepowers, the Huayra has it. U think we can expect a video ?
