I never asked. I can easily believe the P1's quicker around most circuits than the 918 - both are good cars, but the P1 is lighter, more powerful and has more downforce -- it's just physics. I can also believe there are circuits where 918 is quicker, principally slower circuits where the AWD advantage exiting corners would be a big plus.

Either way, I'm not earning a living getting the best-possible laptime, and I'm more concerned with how the car drives and whether it's accessible and provides good feedback. This is doubly true of what is principally a street car. I've driven the P1 and love it. 'Nuff said.

I can assure you they not...woking is working ;)

visited woking and I saw a lot of F1s at the factory and MSO.

if I remember correctly saw an LM belongs to a Japanese customer who sold it for like £22 million or £26 million not sure I was so distracted checking it.

Your price is a little high for LM2 based on my sources, but it was still a rather significant sum paid for the privilege.

I wasn't really paying much attention when George mentioned the price but I will ask him tommorow.

Talking of which, I want to see proof that Ben (Treynor) owns a P1. Maybe something convincing, like, say, a picture of the car with a loaf of bread will do...

Perhaps step it up a notch and make it a Cronut this time given that the P1 is a hybrid? Although I'm not sure his P1 has arrived just yet - earlier he said he expected it to arrive in Q4-2014.

Sure, if it ever gets there...

Genuine question, has every single P1 owner on earth been on this thread? Do they give you a copy of the Ring video and a FerrariChat account with your cars? Just curiosity. ;)

Mclaren did give us a cool box to keep your keys in with a usb stick inside with some videos.

But to answer your question, Alot of p1 owners are also ferrari owners. That why they are here.

Yes, I believe every P1 owner has been here. I guess when you spend 40%-50% more for the inferior car, it tends to make you a tad bit defensive...i.e. lets invent fake lap times to justify our purchase and bolster our resale value. Pretty embarrassing if you ask me...

What's embarrassing is that you tend to portray what you would do in such a scenario, and that you would buy a car based on laptimes.

p1 is a keeper for me, I might sell the 918 in the future though.

And what was the laptime exactly?

If you can't disclose that per McLarens request, than it is better not to say anything, let alone suggest anything about that laptime by saying it is much quicker than the 918. You're not really helping anyone.

The fact that McLaren totally ruined the promotional value of running in anger at the Ring by making a big thing out or the attempt but remain tight lipped about the outcome is bad enough as it is. They don't need costumers piling on by ill-advised comments on the board dedicated to a competitor.

Nobody seems to get excited by comments like these. Just annoyed.

    Again, embarrassing and quite amateurish....

Are the pics of your car(s) forthcoming or can we just expect more gibberish???

Bingo, I think you just hit the nail on the head with your last comment.

"The group in Woking" will continue to develop the P1 until they finally surpass the performance of the completed(i.e. stationary, or no longer under development 918) and THEN and only then will they publish their superior Ring time. Until then, they will continue to perpetrate the hoax...

Yes and I'm sure the car recorded in this eventual lap was completely non standard. Probably slick tyres, turbo pressure upped and surely many components removed. Compare that to porsche who had all kinds of journalists to witness ...

I.e. Is the windscreen wiper visible in this P1's Ring attempt video? The reason it's secret is probably because only owners can believe it ;)

I'm not here on this chat forum to convince you or help you. It really matters very little to me what you choose to think. I'm on this forum to learn and enjoy what positive-minded Ferrari aficionados choose to contribute. The P1 is fast. The LaFerrari is fast. The 918 is fast. Now take a chill pill and smile.

Don't know about the wiper, but the whole P1 rear was taped to cover every gap possible... :)

I clearly remember it missing in the pics, makes you wonder what else, if anything left at all in that car

    +1

I posted a pic a couple of pages back that will go well with your username. 918 is on its way, don't make presumptions that will make you look bad.

That is your idea of posting pics...HAHA That's what I thought.

I see you choose to double down on the idiotic comments. No worries here of looking bad...as for you, I'm afraid you crossed that line a long time ago. Have fun with your cars, imaginary or not, I'm out.
