    Ouch!

They've certainly fallen a long way since last year..... :(

However, I suspect they're going to be a lot cheaper too and maybe his ego will believe he can return them to greatness (?)

    A tough one for me:

Of course my Swiss heart screams for Sauber.

OTOH Lotus to me still has the nostalgia of days past when Emmo won his titles.

I love and respect what Lotus was. Which is why I think that the name should be allowed to rest in peace.

The location of Sauber would work better for an international buyer. They get my vote

Wish my dad bought me a Formula 1 team to play with.

I´d buy Lotus because the Enstone team has done great things in the past and with enough money maybe they could do it again but personally I hope that he buys Sauber: they´re in serious trouble and I don´t want to see them bite the dust.

Since there was a lot of talk at Monza of him buying Sauber and that it had fallen apart this story is probably an attempt to get the price down some more before closing

    +1 :)

At least Fauxtus have scored a few points - 8th place is still worth some serious money - Somewhere around $30-40MM I believe.

Sauber are most likely 10th. So more like "just" $20MM incoming. I also thought Monisha was surprisingly upbeat in the team principals conference on Friday. OK, she's not going to say "we're hosed", but was "positive" about being on the grid next year.

Hopefully, he'll make a move sooner rather than later so whoever he goes with gets a decent boost.

    Cheers,
    Ian

+1 I was thinking that too - A "buyers market" it would seem!

    Cheers,

Well this is certainly one way to get his name OFF the Forbes 400 list.

I thought I read an article suggesting that Marussia was an option once the Sauber deal fell through.

Lotus 12 months ago would have been a bargain; today I'd vote for Sauber. Of course, a really big recruiting campaign could resurrect Lotus for 2016.

    Hummm...

Never mind about the Lotus tag, the Enstone team won 4 WDC titles and probably a few WCC as well.

What has Sauber done compared to that?

I know that one shouln't live in the past, but ...

Enstone is in Britain, in the hub of motor racing industry, near many sub-contractors, close to a poll of experienced technicians and mechanics and testing facilities (did I say testing? ..).

    Sauber is isolated in Switzerland.

The "Lotus" of today has nothing to do with the Lotus of Clark, Emmo or Andretti.

Credit 'The Enstone Team' with their deserved accomplishments, including the Benneton years with that young Schumacher kid. But they are not now, not have they ever been Lotus in my eyes.

    True.

I hope that the Enstone team survives under yet another new name.

Taking the name Lotus was about as tasteful as cloning a favorite dog.
