I suppose it's #GLA12910, it's hide was pure white from the factory, the owner from 2004-2010 changed the seat and told the todays owner it came from the factory like this which was a lie.
We were able to track down all owners back to 1986.

Called American. They will not insure a car that lives in a high rise parking garage where it's parked together with other cars. Only cars that are kept in a private locked garage.

I have a question: the fiberglass wheel arch extenders are different in dimensions between 400s and 5000s(qv)?
is the 2' difference between low body and hi body evident here?

Very nice Raymond. I have the same version that fits the 25th. Prior to installing them I had them ceramic coated to assist in heat control in the engine compartment.

When I installed mine I went in from the rear of the car. Although at the same time I was replacing the four motor mounts and servicing both drive shafts so I had some wiggle room due to the additional work. Also while the stock headers were off I removed the block plugs for the coolant and installed 90* fittings, some flexible hose, and a valve to allow for quick and simple coolant changes. Lastly with easy starter access, I wrapped the starter with heat reflective wrap, although I'm not sure if it's only a gimmick, at the time there ws a lot of discussion here regarding some experiencing starter issues so figured I'd give it try.

A set of flexible arms help a lot.

Will do the same, found a local shop, but first of all we will test the fitment. How were yours?
I plan to coat also the 4 tubes to the muffler and perhaps also the muffler itself, at the Moment the muffler is open since we replace the 100 cell catalysts with 200 cell Units.
After 12 years one catalyst broke: http://www.countach.ch/exhaust.html

Defiantly do a dry fit first. Mine had only one of the 12 header attachments that wouldn't bolt up. It was so close I could get the end of the bolt in the hole but it was at a slight angle and wouldn't thread in. I slid a pipe into the end of that one manifold pipe and adjusted it very slightly and the fit was perfect. I was very surprised at well all four header sections bolted right on.

The four tubes that connect the headers to the muffler section also were ceramic coated. I installed the entire system, made up the brackets to attach the muffler, leveled everything and made sure it was even coming through the 25ths rear valance. Then with a magic marker, marked out where the four connector pipes fit onto each of the headers. This way I knew how far up the pipe to coat the ceramic. I left an extra 1/2" not coated just for a little working room when sliding the pipes back together. The end of the four pipes that attach to the muffler were coated all the way to the ends. I left the muffler uncoated.

Did mine in the car (FI) It was tight and great patience needed. A DD should be alot easier. The only thing I did different was I used studs and nuts instead of bolts. Easier to install gaskets and to line up the pipes. Not all were perefectly aligned. Those headers are worth every penny, especially on a FI car as the stock manolds are junk. The sound of the car also goes up a notch over the QS muffler only.

I went through this process last year and I found that nothing was aligned, and nothing bolted right on! I bet this is the case with any Countach. It is a case finessing & adjusting, and lots of time & patience was required.

I recently read an inspirational poster in my sons class room that read,
" I never said it was going to be easy, I said it would be worth it."

I feel that applies here. :)
