Well, I know what the best have sold for. The car is the target. If you have one and would like to talk about it PM me.
I have one but not for sale. I see them come up every now and then and would be happy to forward your way. Was trying to get a sense of budget. If you know what top cars are going for that should establish it.
why don't you give Ed Waterman a call. He has the blue one with 900 miles on it that he bought 2 years ago at auction. He is at Motorcar Gallery. I have no affiliation with him, but know that at one time ( in the last year ) he had 4 for sale.
I'm looking for the best late model car I can find and plan on enjoying the car by driving and maintaining it. Have done some research on the car and will continue to study them. Have seen numerous cars over the years at the shows and gatherings and figured its time to find one. I'd appreciate any help or knowledge you are willing to share. Mark
i was just surfing the internet and look what popped up. I don't understand the letter of intent mumbo-jumbo, but here it is. Maserati Bora - Valenzo
Thanks. $235k would be the new world record Bora sale. Only 900+ miles though. Can't be many of those. I want to be able to drive the car so this is not the one for me.
That website also lists another in gold. I'm pretty sure that car still resides in the USA, sold by Waterman.
Try Peter Markowski at RPM, Vermont. He is a straight-shooter. Restoration and Performance Motorcars - 1974 MASERATI BORA
I inquired on that car. He told me he sold it for $185K, is also looking for another and made me an offer for mine.
Why? Do you suddenly want your life to be BOR-ING? I'm sorry....................I need to lie down and take my medication.
1977 Maserati Bora - Looks like Gullwing has a '77 for sale. In typical GW fashion, it looks pretty roughed up. Interior is pretty beat up and front end looks like a steel I beam fell on it. Who knows about the mechanical condition.
I figured 40k + for cosmetics only! body, paint, interior. The mechanical and electrical could easily top another 40k +. I think $140k is a stretch but agree on $80-$100k. Either way, point is.... Find the best one you can afford.....as always
I'm pretty sure I know that car and have driven it. I beleive it's the remants of this car http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/137085908-post10.html And it was a POS back then! It hasn't improved any ... Run Forest run! It's had a long string of bad owners and horrid repairs. I don't know what happened to the front though if it's the same car then the hatch was blown back at speed and dragged on the road. Those also are not the right seats but I do know where they are LOL. The amount of money wasted on this car over the years through idiot repair shops is criminal. It's well over $100K and look at this POS! The paint must be 1/4" thick by now? Still, someone should bring this car back. $30K is about the limit though.
It does need a fair amount of work, but, respectfully, it is not the car from the thread you posted. Bora's are in the realm of going up, yet still somewhat unappreciated, really nice ones sell high, and the rest are in some sort of funky middle ground.
