Any more pics? Did the car sell north of $500K? Was an engine rebuilt part of the resto or was that not needed here?

Meanwhile I'll leave it to the new gentleman owner who reads this thread to discuss his car further should he wish to do so.

That's one outstanding car! Nero & Rosso combi is really potent.

The first thought that came to mind is dirtying the red carpet would be awful.

Lol I am surprised that plate was accepted too.
I've heard of 'head aches' but that's to much.
    Beautiful car though.

1121006 in the beginning years. Possibly 1979, shortly after it arrived in the States. After almost a dozen years of waiting for some kind of early photos of the car.....

With a letter from the original owner:

    Hi Peter,

I got your mail and am very happy that you have restored the car to its original condition which has also increased the value of the car.

I have not received any new pictures of the car, but looked at the pictures on your site as far as I remember the color has not changed and I did never had any kind of accident, not even a dent, so there was no reason for repainting or even retouching the paint.

I am sending separately some original pictures of the car that I just found and hope they be helpful.

Anyway you never bother and if I can be of help will do with pleasure. If by any chance I be in northeast US will be in touch and would like to meet you and see the car as it is a great piece of machinery

    Best

    Awesome pics Peter!

Period images always tell a story and that is why they are so valuable.

If you use an image application such as Picasa to renew the images and restore them from the age-fade these prints exhibit (see below), I think the results confirm your car left the factory in Blu Acapulco Metallizzato, just as the factory records themselves state.

Not that it matters much, but as you said in an earlier thread, the car has been painted several times http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/141228522-post175.html so its easy to understand how subsequent color 'matching' was close, but not exact. After all, I can imagine Blue Aapulco Metallizzato with its violet tint being hard to replicate.

The person to ask would be Raymond, he owned a Lamborghini in Blu Acapulco Metallizzato 2.463.924 and I think his eye would be much more discerning than mine.

    Raymond?

Very interesting!!! As Joe said, these photos are extremely valuable. The photos clearly show a car in Blu Acapulco. Peter, repaint your car, Acapulco looks great on a LP400 Series one cars! Countach/Jalpa colour chart attached.
