After 40 yrs off the radar I have acquired a 58 Ellena with the orig engine, (trans I believe) and rear end. Car was taken apart about 40 yrs ago and boxed and crated.

I am beginning inventory of the parts and don't have much history on the car, except im told that it was raced at limerock at some point in time and has special cutouts on the fenders and inner fenders for air flow.

Any info is appreciated - working on a plan for the resto etc.

A body and 5 crates of parts - what a project!

Thanks marcel - now the history begins!

My seller owned the car since 1977-79 period....so from 58 - 79 is all I have to fill in!

Ref the history on the car - I was told (but not verified) that this may have been chinetti's car at one time after the sale and that he did the racing at limerock. I don't know -so im searching.

Also - the front fender cutouts look to be very well done on the car - to the point I thought they could be factory? This was done as im told to get the air flow thru the engine compartment - out the fender. There are 3, 1.5 in holes cut in each inner fender to facilitate the air flow. Any thoughts on the fender cutout?

Who sleeps at 10.30 pm when he has a great Ellena project in his garage?
Now, the next two steps, please: gearbox and rear axle numbers. Thank you.

Those Elena's (and Boano's) are stunning cars. What a project this will be, let alone the result! Thanks for sharing.
