I was planning to change my oil tomorrow. The new filter I have does not have a stand pipe in it like the Baldwin, Purflux of UFI. I'd definitely prefer one of these brands specifically for that reason as it keept the filter from completely going empty when not running meaning that the oil is there quicker on start up. Better for the engine. Does anyone know of stores in LA that stock and of these brands? Don't say Grainger as they are out of stock everywhere except the Compton store which is not first on my list to drive to.

Ufi is not distributed in the USA except by dealers and Ferrari related parts sources like Ricambi and T Rutlands. Perflux does not to my knowledge make a filter for Ferrari prior to the 348.

I think that pretty much limits you to a Ferrari dealer and Compton.

Have a look around for other distributors for Baldwin.

Checked the Baldwin web site. No one that is open on the weekend has one in stock. Its either an inferior filter or waiting another week.

One more week won't hurt. Get a proper filter.

Peter, I have an extra UFI oil filter for 308 QV/328 that I'm not going to use as I switch to Baldwin filter years ago. Let me know if interested.

I live at Lake Tahoe and I purchased my last few Baldwin B253 at several different truck stops along I80 in Reno and Sparks. There must be a few trucks stops or big rig repair places in your area. Try one of them.

Thanks for the offers and filter information. The easiest path was to simply order and have it shipped. $25 for two of them shipped to me seemed reasonable.

Anyone know if there is a difference between the Red Baldwin B253 and a white one with crossed racing flags? I've seen both online. I believe that I have the red ones ordered.

It has been documented that the white UFI filter has colapesd inside before.
Never heard anything bad or negatives about the Baldwin filter. So I guess
    the difference is the quality.

Both are Baldwin and both have the same number B253? The white one online was Baldwin B253 on Amazon not a UFI. Also saw the red ones. That's rather confusing. White is poor quality and red is good?

I've never seen the white ones before. I imagine they should be the same except for the color.

I like red in the Ferrari.

I ordered 2 from Zoro.com. $14 each less a $5 off code. Shipped to my door. I'm either too lazy or too busy to drive to get one.

    Thanks for the help.
