Which 355 would you buy?

  1. Manual and would pay more for it

  2. Prefer Manual but would consider either depending on price

  3. F1 only and would pay more for it

  4. Prefer F1 but would consider either depending on price

  5. I like both equally

Yes, everyone should throw away their early F1s because a couple guys on Fchat that have never owned one and probably never driven one say they are junk. My car is worth more simply because it is in better condition, has better records and has a better history than most six speeds on this entire board no matter the transmission. That is what most look for. Done.

Exactly. And this is coming from a F430 owner, which has a significantly updated F1 box.

I would consider buying a 355 F1, but I am not blind to having more potential issues.

Haaaa, you guys are hilarious. I saw that. I was hoping you pee brains could come up with something more than 3 posts on a Ferrari forum! Nice work, you've made a point. Not sure it's the one you intended on.

How much is an F1 pump? probably not cheap. Actuators.

More threads related to F1 issues than a manual. I guessed you haven't figured out how to use the search yet. Good luck.

Dave, as I stated, I don't think they are bad, but there are just some owners that have been snorting too much glue. It is like saying riding on a motorcycle is just as safe as driving a car. I have a 95 which were known for having more potential for valve guide issues than a 99, but I wouldn't deny it. I knew it going in and if something does develop I will deal with it. Proof it. Show me. Only three things you could come up with? Apparently some owners do not do their homework before purchasing things. It is pretty evident if they haven't seen these threads before. I found some threads but they had 360F1 problems so then these posters would then say. Hey its a 360 and not a 355. Even though the 360 is supposed to be improved. Even if it is two minor issues, it could still effect you getting stuck. I have got to get some of the KoolAid that some of these guys drink around here.;)

I rode a m/c for 5 years as a job, 8 hrs a day and never got hurt. I worked in a car for 10 and was hit and I was hurt. So I would say the motorcycle was a safer bet for me. It's nice to know you spent all that time looking and couldn't find anything other than a few 360 F1 issues. You point is again well taken. By the way, try grape, it's my favorite Koolaid.
The hateraid you give out is too bitter for me.

    Hi Dave,

I think the majority of people on the 348 /355 thread have never driven a F1 355, let alone own or have owned one.

I bought my 1998 355 F1 GTS new. I feel that a well sorted 355 F1 GTS will be worth more money in years to come because only 529 were ever built.

Everybody has a preference, mine F1 all the way.

Ahhh!!!! Yes, most intelligent post yet. You understand the system, the package, and the evolution. Not all F1 is the same. As each car evolved there was more of an integrated system and you can understand why there is no 3 pedal 458. It is not that Ferrari is too lazy to make a 3 pedal 458 but it is getting to the point that it is just not feasible.
1st gen 355F1 is to 430F1 as "dealer installed A/C option" is to "factory air" in the 1970's.

I'm not saying an F1 won't cost mire to service, of course it will, it's a complex system confared to the links of a stick.

To talk koolaid is all the folks that say a stick or a 95 is worth more than others.

yeh I have 2 430s - one as had the actuator replaced the other not yet - my answers was based on speed of shifting. im ok having to fix these cars when they have issues.
