Sounds good, thank god it stayed open. Now Marcel, can you please work out from those photo's which 750 Monza Max Vito owns?, that may tax even your encyclopedic knowledge LOL.
Thanks for reopening the thread and for banning Mr. Vito for 30 days. His posts have become repetitive and incoherent, and I won't miss them.
Interesting that if you go to the member list and toggle back and forth between the alias list of bogus names posted by Ocean Joe; no more than one at a time is on line....Hmmm.
Good that the thread was re-opened, its the 2nd most viewed thread in the vintage section. Despite that I don't agree with Max Vito's veiwpoint or attitude I'm not in favour of banning him a she is a player in the #0384 saga, and at minimum his posts provided some entertainment value. The people who complained about Max seem to have had no other input in to this thread. If someone's comments offended them, they can always put Max on ignore, or just avoid the thread entirely. (RL was aware of the situation in this thread re multiple id's, disclosure of personal information and has intentionally kept it open for the past 3 years.)
Definitely entertaining. Especially when you know the truth about who some of these posters really are. Watch em twist and spin.
from a management perspective this thread generates more revenue than any other topic, entertainment value or genuine interest, chatters are tuning in... which goes directly to the bottom line for management and chatters alike... it keeps this forum running for the chatters... the chatters show their support by continued visits... the few that think otherwise don't need to view this topic... the mods have done a decent job keeping things in bounds...their most recent decision was an aberration and has been recinded in favor of those enjoying this topic... this topic is drawing close to ending on its' own as the legal proceedings are exhausting options and close to final resolution... closing this topic would be like stopping the broadcast of a sports event before its' end
An aberration? No. This is one thread out of over 427,000. Yes. It has nearly 290,000 views... but it took over 8 years to garner those views. Just the Bikini thread in the Silver Backroom Lounge alone has nearly than 10 times that at over 2,893,000 views. And that thread is eclipsed by the "Let's See Pretty Girls with Ferraris" thread with over four and a half million views. Even the Funny Pictures thread in Silver generates more traffic... with over 5 times the number of views this thread has. In fact, in the Lambo forum, both the Miura thread (with over 1.8 million views, and the Countach thread (with over 1.7 million views) are light years ahead of this thread. In fact, the four threads I just mentioned have over 11 million total views... compared to the less than 300,000 views of this thread. Four threads. So, I honestly think you are grossly overstating the importance of this thread to the forum, as a whole. This thread has approximately 2,160 posts... out of over 9,237,000 posts on the forum. Just over 2 ten-thousanths of a percent. And you honestly think that this thread, in and of itself, 'generates more revenue than any other topic..."? The most recent decision, as you put it, was made because of the consistency with which the rules were being broken, and the inordinate amount of time it was taking to correct the problem. The Moderation team made the decision to temporary close the thread to determine the appropriate strategy for tackling the issues inherent with this thread. We, collectively, discussed it in the Moderator's Forum, and came to the consensus provided by Ylshih above. I don't agree that the majority of the forum users look for this thread to keep up with the news. Rather, I believe it's a relative minority. Plainly, more people are interested in bikinis, pretty girls, and Lambos, than in the poo-flinging saga of 0384AM. An aberration? No. A normal house-keeping action to keep this forum as viable for as many users as possible? Yes. Mike
Good call by the mods to handle it all as you have. It's generally a thankless job, so thank you. >8^) ER
That post you note was after Rob last reviewed this thread, and I gave him the Cliff Notes version. He's checked Max out, even thru his roving IP, etc. Yin can probably send him room service by now... The moderators left on deck still have it well in hand, IMO. Thanks and a tip of the hat, guys!!!
Lot of threads here have been closed to cool down (or for a review of the replay films!!) and then reopened.. No real difference here. It was a temporary freeze...
I want some bikini girls AND this thread! But when I post the COTA MotoGP Ducati Island style show, they come up sideways!
...damn iPhone......some of us are here, because "what's right, is right", and stealing things from an old man, like a watermelon out of a farm field, can still get you shot, in a lot of places. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Joe Max raises an interesting point in his own inimitable way. Before the Bonhams deal was derailed, Kristie Lawsons had a chance to walk away with 10%. Now she is back in expensive litigation with no "financier"
Rob's post reflected his position on us addressing "right" or "wrong," and was referencing the 'taking of sides' in this thread... specifically saying that FerrariChat has no position on this discussion, and cannot and will not favor one side of the discussion over the other. It was not an open door to ignore the rules of the forum. (Please see my signature line for a link to the rules). Mike
Why do I have the feeling that the Kleve heirs will be at the back of the queue when the proceeds are eventually distributed ? With the ever expanding list of litigation what will be left ?
Lets just say they get half of the $18 million, that is still a lot of money to play with, and 10% of half is still $900k.......... But only if they get half and that's why I have always had a level of support for OJ because otherwise there's certain to be nothing for KKL and everything will go to a group made up of Chris Gardner, Jacques Swaters and possibly luminaries such as Dog Day, Max Vito and Mbzgurl amongst others, mind you if you go down that path, the list of claimants is endless. But hey its just an "aircar" so nobody will get anything LOL. And what about Zanotti, couldn't he claim all the proceeds, certainly Bonhams seems to think so
Users Chrikky, OHSOHI, and Paraquat posting in this thread are all the same user. Accordingly, all three accounts have been permanently banned. This is a reminder that creating multiple user accounts will get you (and all of your aliases) permanently banned from the site.
First, I am glad the thread is up. The bans were overdue IMHO. I think "Chantal" is also a onebugatti/metalfinder/oldracer/mbzgurl/tutis/chrikky/maxvito/flobert/dogday/reproman/paraquat alias. Check out "Chantal's" posts. Second, . . . Bonhams, London Watchers, and Applicable Banned User(s), The Ohio court has spoken, Ford at 70% and Lawson at 30%, plus there was the legal matter of a condition precedent not being fulfilled that pre-empted Lawson changing from 30%. (Docs are posted at p43, post #1473.) We know that Lawson (30%) did not consent to the auction nor the sale, so for this (1st) reason there will be no sale. We know that Ford (70%) did not consent to the auction nor sale, so, for yet another (2nd) independent reason there will be no sale. We know that the state of Ohio had a block on any conveyance, as sought by Gardner's attorney, so for yet anoter (3rd) independent reason, there will be no sale. IMHO it is not reasonable to believe otherwise, and it is a waste of UK court resources and time to debate it. HOA you say? Even IF it were a contract, its authority was limited to the Sept 2013 auction and it expired (1st reason) PLUS some of the owners withdrew all authority in an abundance of caution (2nd reason). But I maintain the HOA is not a contract and I have my reasons. Joe *
