Pretty cool they showed the tartan seats vs the leather versions. I wonder if the fabric seats with vinyl weighed marginally less than the leather version.

I’ve been collecting Turbo items for years but this color book must have been a U.S. dealer-only item (did they have similar versions in Europe?) and unusual with the semi-transparent 911s. I’ve never seen another one so I’m not sure if it originally had a semi-transparent Turbo Carrera that may have came loose long ago. It is marked: "1975 Porsche – Audi, Volkswagen of America" and contains 16 large color sheets and 7, 2 x 2 inch special colors in the back (Desert Beige, Peru Red, Magenta, Lime Green, Irish Green, Sebring Green, and Polar Blue – all available for the Turbo Carrera at no charge). I’ve attached two more images of a Targa with Shamrock Green paint selection and a Coupe with Caribe Blue Metallic.

Tony, I’ll send you some scans.

They also included the weight of the seats for Group 4 (Nr. 645) and in addition, included the weight of the aluminum bumpers. I wonder how they accounted for sport seats in the production cars since they weighed more than standard seats?

I've been working on the whaletail section for my mid-1970s Porsche book and there is quite a bit of confusing information out there (fiberglass weaves, part number stampings, frame steel vs fiberglass, heat shield variations, paint variations, detecting reproductions, etc). Attached are the parts lists for the whale tail from January 1975 Spare Parts Catalog. This should be very enlightening to this discussion on the 1975 930 tails. Thanks to Joe Hartman for providing these period parts list pages.

Reminder: PET parts catalogs (especially the modern PDFs) show REPLACEMENT parts and not always what was originally fitted. Porsche removed parts all the time, and combined parts, to simplify their production as well as inventory management in the decades that followed. Anyone relying on modern PET parts catalog for a restoration can inadvertently end up with wrong parts for their car. Original period Parts Catalog, such as this eBay version give much better insight.

Very cool…my non-optioned A/C tail is original to my car and has part # 930.512.010.00. I believe the ’75 930’s non-optioned A/C small secondary grill was slightly smaller than the ’76 verisions but need dimensions from the ’76 to compare – anyone have a RoW ’76 without A/C with an original tail?

Big brother is watching lol. Recently got my car back from paint/body and 4 hipsters spotted it in the alley behind my motorcycle shop. There was much hooting and hollering.

No mods unless braided brake lines count. Deleted/plugged the air pump lines. Did everything within reason to make it a safe/fresh/reliable/stock row 3.0 930.

    And thanks!

I wish I had bought it when it was for sale two years ago. That is definitely a cool car.

Thanks! Could not pass it up as it was just 1/2 hour south of me when it popped up. Definitely had way, WAY more needs than that ad from 2012 implied but I went in eyes open. Plus the guy let me trade in my Cosworth Vega so it was meant to be I guess.

Yes it is the original color scheme. Just had a full on, glass out, trim off, etc., full respray. I had the perimeter decals, headlight plexi covers and other details replicated to as close to original as possible. I left off the "Kremer Street" cursive script on the rockers and frunk lid.

I remember it well. One day it was for sale, the next day it was sold! I just had too much going on with a house renovation and some other things in the fire.

kiesen - I saw your ad on Pelican - good luck with the sale.

Your Pelican ad mentioned that your trunk aluminum ID tag was removed as required by US NHTSA import requirements. I had never heard this requirement before but it’s nice that the importer saved part of the removed tag with the chassis number present.
