a friend and collector of Lamborghini books with a collection of more than 200 books on the cars with the bull badge just bought the new book on Balboni: "The best job in the world"

Matthias Pfannmüller:Valentino Balboni - Der beste Job der Welt: Lamborghini-Testdriver
Valentino Balboni - Der beste Job der Welt: Lamborghini-Testdriver: Amazon.de: Matthias Pfannmüller: Bücher

Apparently the book is only available in German yet.
But he tells me it ranks among the best three Lambo book in his entire collection.

Has anyone heard it to be announced in English as well?

    it is only in German.

Personnaly, I will not rank it among the 10 top Lambo books, I have also about 300 books and 1000 magazines...

For instance, Joe's "Miura Bible" is much better and complete than that one !

Well, there is also an English version and this book focuses on Balboni. The same author will release a book on Lamborghini next year.

Exactly. And in that respect, it is complete, while some details about the cars maybe are not described 100% correctly. But this is no book about Lamborghini in general and no book about one of the Lamborghini cars. Lots of nice rare photos, thus highly recommended. It is a very nice and well done item featuring Valentino Balboni that every Lamborghini enthusiast should own. English version available of course, as you said.

Gentlemen, Amazon does not have that book... yet, I am sure they will some day. If you would like the book, you can only get it from the USA importer at this point.

    Link to the standard edition:
Lamborghini Valentino Balboni - Standard Edition - Coterie Press

    Link to the special edition:
Lamborghini Valentino Balboni - Limited Edition - Coterie Press

Olivier, let's hear your top ten... I need to know what books I am missing! (I certainly do not have as many as you, but the collection is growing!)

Vectorfiles> I'm also interested in having this book list becoming public (just to know how much books / magazine books I'm missing in my collection).

I ordered my limited edition recently on the European site : La Libreria dell'Automobile, international motorbooks, libri auto, libri moto

Although, I understand the value of a limited edition, I don't understand why the standard edition it that limited in number. Is there any reason to have that few numbers being printed ? Does anyone know how much copies the German edition was made of ?

I'd be tempted to think that the author doesn't want to sell, or let the Lambo brand be even more known...

Just received my "Limited Edition" and am I ever glad I bought it. Incredible book that will take me quite awhile to go through. Just the pictures alone are worth the money. A Collectors item in the near future for sure. Love it!

I've read the entire book (german Version) and found only 3 Errors, quite a good Quality.
But it was somehow too less Vale for me, it tells the story from 1963 to 2014 with some comments of Vale, from the title of the book a bit weak Content overall.
The Pictures I knew about 90-95%.

What I'm missing are stories like how Vale took the green LP400 1120001 in 2001 back to italy, how he identified on that car his own working traces etc. These are the Kind of stories I expected from this book.

don't you have in your german copy on each picture subtitle : "neben dem neuen viersitzer ist der 400 GT... bla bla bla... Frederico Formenti" ????

that's what I have for all pictures in the book !!!!!

No, some are missing and some not 100% correct, but I meant the text/Story in the book.
Funny that Vale confirmed that the Evo had a standard engine, that's what I saw from the pictures in the magazines...

Maybe we need a specific book review thread here? Google helps of course but it would be nice to hear what people who actually own, drive and live with these cars really think. Many of the better known books out there seem to contain generic and even incorrect info. Maybe most buyers are just more interested in nice photos?

    Andrew,
Among all the books I have, here is my selection... I don't publish in order of importance but chronologically year of release, but that basket represents in terms of period, content, topic according to me => the ultimate selection...

    Raymond,
    I totally agree with you.

While speaking with Valentino over the last decades and several times per year... he alwaays had some good stories to tell about. I was still hungry when I finished reading it !
I also reach your conclusion about the pictures, 90% already known, I was expecting more special pics than just ones coming from magazines, books or Coltrin, Zagari...

Thank you for posting your book selections Olivier, I just picked up the Crump Box book, and to the poster identifying Coterie Press as a source for The Best Job In The World. I had ordered the latter months ago from Amazon with no luck and just ordered from Coterie. Super. Philip
