I find this to be an interesting and yet odd way to try and sell a car.

I just want to be sure I understand your approach. Clue me in if I'm misinterpreting.

    1. We negotiate a price for your car, without you telling me what's potentially wrong with it.

    2. I send you a check.

    3. THEN you reveal to me what caused the salvage title.

Will you refund my deposit if the reason for the salvage title has a meaningful effect on the structure/saleability of the car going forward, or do I forfeit my deposit so that I can learn what aliens inhabit your car?

I dunno, but if you can make it work, let me know. I'll head to Manheim tomorrow and buy up 20 dodgy cars with no history and sell them on car forums to folks dumb enough to accept this approach.

Not everyone who owns a Ferrari can be labeled by the rest of us as 'Tifosi'..

Sad that many owners probably do not even know who Francesco Barracca is.

find it that you must respond when it is no concern of yours. Now you find it questionable to say why advertise as salvage title when most of the furor was posted when I did not post as salvage title.

All this fuss over something that concerns serious buyers only and is of no concern to anyone else other than those who love to sing in the shower (the only time you think you sound good, I doubt you do)

Ok Ok.. the reason for salvage title....the state mandated what type of title was to be issued, not me nor previous owner...the state did.
What reason? Well, the car was not being driven but, I understand thru hearsay that a golf club caused what cosmetic damage was done. The owner, wishing to keep vehicle, bought it from ins co. They owned the car now and could only issue a state mandated and required "salvage title"
Now you have answers to your questions, I have answered almost to the best of my ability and knowledge. This posting issue is why it was not made public except to serious buyers only and response has been acceptable..the response from those not interested as buyers is not acceptable for the slander and snipping for a non concern reason other than just hearing them selves with little constructive reasoning. Read back thru all the posts, a few are mine which would have better been edited but most are by others who had no point whatso ever in posting. Those whom called me or private mesage were given all information they requested, others it is still none of your concern and if the car sells or not is beyond any concern of anyone being trite enough to feel they must press upon others opinions that have no bearing on the issues not concerning them.
If you were not an active interested buyer, it is none of your business anyway.
Enjoy the day and watch out for golf clubs.

What's the definition of a "serious buyer"?

    Kai

PS: it's libel, dude. Not slander.

I know very few people that want to buy a totaled car. Regardless of what it looks like now. But to each his/her own 😇

LOL!!! All this over some dudes pissed off wife who attacked his car with a golf club!
    (Mere conjecture of course.)
If the story had been spun properly, this car would have been gone weeks ago.

All the BS aside. This is a good deal. For someone, this would make a great "Dream Car".

Hmmmmm. Golf club..... very interesting. Or not.

This is like watching a train wreck in slow motion. You don't want to watch, but just feel drawn in, and the more the seller gets defensive and secretive, the worse it gets. If the car was whacked by a golf club and given a salvage title, why all the cloak and dagger stuff? Doesn't make sense. A couple of pics and a Tiger Woods joke or two and it's a non-issue, but that's not happening here.

When all those 'serious buyers' who enjoy being insulted send their check in, just make sure there is a PPI in your budget. It could be a good buy.... Or not. Remember the old saying, there is no such thing as a cheap Ferrari.

So far the only successful sales people I've seen that dis their customers are hawking NEW Ferraris. I don't think it's a generally successful tactic.

btw....... "You kids!! Get off my lawn"! :)

If it did, and that were my car, I'd be really tee'd off.

Of course, I'd have to get a rough estimate first.

Either way it would suck, no matter how you slice it.

But if the leather on both seats is identical, would that make it a skins match?
