If this was an '85 Z28 that had been sitting under a tree for 15 years I'd still want to know why it has a salvage title BEFORE I could become a serious buyer.

Hm, I normally don't care either way. But some of you are asking a question that the OP has answered 8 pages ago in post 20. Stolen recovery is the reason why it was salvaged.

    Quote here:
    ----
A car is stolen, ins co pays off, car is recovered, owner wishes to buy it back from INS CO.
Ins co sells it back to original owner the only way it can..with a salvage title.

The seats look good; I didn't see ******-in-one [or either of them for that matter]

    Sorry, couldn't resist.

(Not intentionally post-whoring, but delete if warranted :) )

This is not a Caddy, it's a Ferrari, albeit one that no longer seems par for the course.

I'd like to add, it's maybe a little rough now, but there must be a fair way to make a deal on this car.

I think we are driving a wedge between the OP and our community here with all our comments.

Does that make it a salvage-Titleist car? So many hazards...best to avoid the traps.

Perhaps seller will take a Mulligan and post a revised listing?

No he said that was one way a car gets a salvage title. Later he admits that the car was attacked by golf clubs and was totaled by the insurance company and bought back. That is why all the golf references.

One one hand, I understand people staying away from a salvage car. On the other, as an F1 fan, I realize almost every car in every race would qualify for a salvage title, if titled. And one of the drivers will be World Champion, in a salvage car.
I think, with enough information and the right price, I would buy one.

You lost interest at post 10 ? You lost interest at post 10? WOW! The check is in the mail to you.....check the amount carefully @post 10...now well over 150 posts. Why are you still here wasting water while singing in the shower. Humor fell over with the soap.

There is no negotiating of the price. If interested, I assume you would wish to view the car knowing it has a salvage title, then acceptance of your check...maybe....
I am trying to keep humor here and to many are trying to make it a battle of why even after they say they are not interested. Were they in the first place or again, listening to ones voice in the shower. Basically I have said cosmetic damage and how, in broad terms. If you wish to know full details as I am aware of...come see the car

I bet the car is a "ball". Great for taking out for a long drive down the green.

The problem is that some states will not allow cars with salvage tittles on the road, period. Other states, like CT, require the car be trucked (no wheel on the ground) to a state (DMV) inspection station and pass a safety inspection before a "Rebuilt" tittle can be issued.

So you're saying your price is what your price is. I get that now. No negotiating price, it's a FIXED price. OK, got it.

That was unclear to me. Generally, unless you have a one of a kind vehicle, the price is negotiable. Actually, I have a friend who bought a 250GTO a few years ago, and even then there was wiggle room in the price. Although I suspect now if you asked him to sell the car, there would be zero negotiating. The market on those cars has changed.

A 348TS with a salvage titleist (sorry, couldn't resist one more golf joke) is not that kind of car.

I will now scurry away from this thread with a clearer understanding of what you're trying to accomplish.

And I do agree, maybe a mulligan is your best choice here.

Tom, if I may, this is the time/place where you add a fresh round of pictures to the thread to refresh the interest. If you can get someone to loan you a GoPro camera and put it on rear glass inside the cabin with you and go for a little drive (top on please and windows rolled up, no radio).

This thread hurts to read but you can still make it about the car and get it done. IMO you just need a fresh round of marketing, a blitz. If you are an old dude letting one of your precious toys go you have a lot of built in wiggle room as to your methods and your attitude. This wont scare a serious buyer IMO.

The almighty F-Chat could even be the place for you to find said help. It's that kind of place! Good Luck! :)

THIS IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU'VE GOTTEN HERE TO DATE. Read it twice, absorb it, then execute the plan.

A brand new listing here, with full disclosure and a link to this thread, might help.
