The pin you receive for driving your Ferrari will let you into the event. I asked about FCA members and they MAY let FCA members in with their membership cars without a car but I don't know if that has been finalized as of yet.

New message came out today. The larger hospitality tent has been given up in favor of a smaller one due to limited space. They now will only have space for the registered attendees who drive their cars. No more room for FCA members that show up but didn't drive as part of the event. Also looking as though this will be an all day event from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. If you drive your Ferrari you are stuck for the duration.

That confirms I won't be driving in, but just signed up with the FCA this morning for nothing.
Can we get a handoff on the pins and recycle them during the event :D

I believe if you are part of the special group of 60 select vehicles that will be in the "parade" or parked on Rodeo Drive you will have to be there for the entire event, unable to move your vehicle. Those Ferrari owners who drive their vehicles and park in other designated Ferrari parking areas will be able to leave at their leisure. If one of the organizers is viewing this I am sure than can clarify.

Will it be worth going if you don't plan to take your Ferrari? It sounds like if you don't register your Ferrari you won't be able to take part in any of the activities going on inside the tent.

For the FCA members please understand that the main organization of the event is by FNA. The FCA is lending some assistance in some areas but we are not in charge. The FCA tent was assured to the club until FNA changed their plans. That led to the change of plans where the club will now have some space at Luxe Hotel on Rodeo Drive. This is an evolving situation and the club is reacting as best it possibly can.

The entire display of all the Ferraris on Rodeo, Camden and in the area garages is free to the public. FNA is apparently holding some additional invite only activities for their "anointed" list of attendees. I am not one of them so can't say what those activities are.

Inside the Luxe in the club's room/area Penfolds will be pouring wine.

Thanks for the addl info! By sheer coincidence, I booked a room at the Luxe a couple nights ago (figured the wife and I really make a weekend of it.) So, if anyone's interested there were still rooms available (at least as of earlier this week.)

    Where is it?
    Who is invited?
Do you have to own a Ferrari of a certain worth?
Is it the same day as the car show?

I am glad it's only 60 cars on display as the street can't hold much more. I hope it's one or two of each model, not 25 308GT4s all in a row. I prefer one or two good examples of different color than several of the same model.

Please, no GT4 bashing! Anyway, it would be more likely to have 25 red 308 GTS's :D
In order to have 25 GT4's , 2/3rd's of them would need to be towed there...

It's more likely there won't be any high production number cars at all.

I received an email update and my "personal" invitation from Luca but nothing on the meeting spots of any further information. In the update it was said that more details were to go out last night or today.

I decided to not drive my 42 year old Dino (with 42 year old radiator) into a 1000 Ferrari procession and 40,000 spectator event. I may regret that decision for a long time. Even Luca's personal invitation today did not sway my decision. But so be it.

So yesterday, when I received the update, which seems to be for those registered, I responded to the webmaster and asked if there are any instructions for those FCA members who are attending as spectators. I assured the webmaster I would not try to crash the tent. This is the kind response I received. This should be exciting.

    "Hello-
There are surface lots and on-street parking surrounding the area. The show starts at 10 but due to world wide media interest, we recommend getting there early as crowds are estimated to come in at around 40,000. The show cars will come in to the area in parade formation starting at 10 so if you want to see them go by on their way to park, we'd recommend staking out a spot near the entrance point and being there quite early to secure an optimal spot. The show is free and we hope you ejoy the day, the display is going to really be something!
    Regards,"
