Some are not concerned with mileage but you are kidding yourself if you think it does not play into value. The most valuable cars will always be low mileage. Less wear are tear out weighs the potential issues of a car that has been sitting. Low mileage cars always command the highest price.
The most valuable cars will always be low mileage. Less wear are tear out weighs the potential issues of a car that has been sitting. Low mileage cars always command the highest price. I agree with the statement above. Mileage, condition and history is king. I recently bought a 98 manual shift with lower mileage, great condition, and complete history. I wasn't too caught up with model year. It appears in the current market there was minimal difference between a good car and a great car. I would say about 10 to 15k difference. I went with the later...easy decision.
Mileage is certainly a large part of the price without a doubt. The low mileage cars will always carry that premium because the market covets that. Almost the first question I get asked when people see my car is how many miles on it? Its always been that way for every used car. The thing a buyer contemplating antying up for a low mileage car has to consider is how much are you going to drive it? Bobzdar referred to this point. I bought my car with 18,300 on it and it has 23,600 now. I live in the NE, dont drive in bad weather, don't ever use it as a daily driver only as a special occasion thing and have put 5,000 miles on it in less than two years. If you plan on driving your ultra low mileage car with any regularity it will very soon not be an ultralow mileage car and the value premium for the low mileage will evaporate quickly. If you plan on buying it and will always be concerned about keeping the mileage low as to retain that premium then that is a different type of ownership and for you getting into a low mileage car would make more sense.
I am not sure if English is your first language, maybe you didn't understand what I wrote, or perhaps you are too fixated with your own point of view to intellectually engage with any concept not eminating from your own brain. Let me see if I can simplify for people that haven't caught up yet: 1. I am not disputing that low mileage commands a premium 2. I am questioning if what the odo says reflects the real mileage in all cases 3. It is precisely because low mileage commands a premium that people wind back the odo 4. It happens, despite what you all might like to think I personally don't ever trust the odo on face value. You lot can do what you like.
LMAO... another thread that started out fine and turned into a superfluous bickering session...people get butt hurt easily on this forum. What was the original topic again?lol
You're right. That's the problem when people are so convinced of being right that they are not willing to even contemplate a different point of view on an intellectual level. This attitude, sadly, is at the root of many of the worlds geopolitical problems today. I have seen it a lot on here, whether it's tin pins, which transmission or how often to change belts, the same old people pop up time after time to validate their own ideology. PS. Manual 6-speed is best
True. If you buy a second different model Ferrari you will find that Forum Board to be much more civil and well boring. This is the "Young and the Restless" daytime soap opera.
love my 3 pedal car...and if it does act up I could diagnose the problem easier and fix most likely cheaper...that makes it more valuable to me!
Agreed, mileage and condition above year. For some reason the Ford GT market is not as effected with mileage as much as the Ferrari market. But then again how many new cars appreciate like they have and with 4000 cars built.
11,273 according to Wikipedia. It's always difficult to generalize mechanical problems. Ease of maintenance has nothing to do with market value imho. Kind regards, Nuno.
Nuno, if you follow some of the different threads on valuation. A lot believe what keeps this model's value down is expense. Whether it be parts prices or engine out services. A lot of potential buyers get scared away and move up to a 360, 430, or purchase a 348. I could not buy a 360 or 430 no matter how much better cars they are. I don't care for their looks. Some of the perceptions are real and some are overblown.
I never said it did ..I said made it worth more to me. Just me. Maybe someone else. cant speak for them...just me
LMFAO I just read your other quote...I was going to post watch people start arguing about how many cars were built thinking that would be impossible....and now its happening. Too funny
