Like I said a couple of weeks ago ferrari had a pr nightmare on there hands clown hack lawyer would go to press and say we need are people to make better cars and you got Fred yes ldm right about that I do need better cars if your in fiat pr department your thinking I need better spokesman

So next year Ferrari will have two drivers who have yet to adjust to the new regulations. Vettel struggles every weekend and Kimi doesn't even want to be there.

Alonso is going to dominate at McLaren if Honda can get it right!

Been said many times before and often true. It is a rare thing for Ferrari to make the best car, very rare.

    huh??

All I see is merc getting better since LH joined. Lauda said in his interview today that lewis provided positive momentum for the team. Only major team straining moments at merc this year were created by nico rosberg. Fancy that huh.

+1. but McLaren Honda wont get it right ;)

There was a race a few years back with Alonso and Vettel on the podium. Alonso pointed out the Tifosi who were doing a soccer style chant and dance for Alonso/Ferrari. The longing look on Vettel's face said it all. He was the clear champion of the world but did not receive the love Alonso/Ferrari did. One of the commentators caught it and said Vettel will one day drive for Ferrari for that reason.

Vettel has been booed for winning (somewhat his fault for poor sportsmanship (passing Webber when Webber backed off on team orders). I think he wants to feel the love Alonso/Ferrari gets.

All I can say it remembers me at 1995 as Schumis switch to Ferrari was announced. At that time he was a 2 times WDC but not loved. He was the evil german.

Like ignoring team order to begin with ;-)

I think I have to bookmark a few comment here and store them for longterm just in case Vettel might win a WDC one day with Ferrari...That would be so hilarious to hear all the excuses and comments of all those who rate Vettel as "an average driver" and Alonso "as good as Senna". Might be funny if Vettel would achieve more at Ferrari than Alonso. Even if he does not get any WDC or WCC in the years to come, what has Ferrari to loose? They did not get one of them with Alonso either...
I think it will be the same thing as with Alonso: most were against him when he was racing against Schumacher and later Massa and Raikkonen, many have questioned his character. Then he signed at Ferrari and all was forgotten because he was wearing Red ;-)

It will be very interesting to see the comments over the next season whether the Alonso/Ferrari fans will cheer for Alonso in a McLaren or if they suddenly prefer Vettel in the Ferrari...

Nico is no saint, Hamilton you see and hear what you get with him IMO.

Personally as a rule of thumb, I cheer for good drivers that can wring the neck out of a car, and can squeeze the extra tenths out of it, when it matters.

Regards off track shenaniganns, and broken biscuits PR chat, I have not much interest, however that is what alot folk seem to have a fixation with.

Alonso regardless of team, I will always admire, and respect him as a driver, even if he is a sly git, <Nico maybe a tad similar in that department :) IMO.

Out for a drink laugh, maybe Kimi/Ricci, out for a chat, it could be any of the experienced drivers.

Out for a drive, that I would no doubt s**t myself, that would be Hamilton..;)

No team orders were ignored. Hamilton said he would let him past if he got
Close enough. Merc mismanaged it and never conveyed that to rosberg - they simply said he will let you through. If ham had done that he would've lost out to iirc alonso and ricciardo.

No one is disputing that vettel is good. He is a good driver but alonso is better. It is entirely plausible he could win championships with ferrari if they sort the car out. Point is that with whatever car they give vettel, alonso could get more out of it than vettel could.

Mercedes team order was not: "Let Rosberg through if he gets close enough" though, was it? - The instruction was purely to let Rosberg through.

Hamilton took it upon himself to state that he'd do so if Rosberg got close enough and that tipped Mercedes off as to the fact that it was unlikely to happen and so they agreed with it.

You can try to sugar coat it any way you want to, but at the end of the day, the team ordered him to do something and he did not comply with their wishes.

Mattiacci and marchionne are doing right. The team was too much Alonso dependant.
Next car will be more neutral design wise, the engine a lot better.
    No doubt drivers will deliver..
Montezemolo dominicalli and alonso now are old story.
We have to accept that,a clean new departure with a good technical staff.

Sorry to burst your bubble but if Hamilton had remained at McLaren, Rosberg and whoever would have partnered him at Mercedes would still have been dominating this season!

Hamilton didn't turn Mercedes around, the designers of their car and engine did! (Unless of course you want to credit Hamilton with those achievements too! - Which wouldn't surprise Me!)

But of course! Hammy, single handedly, designed the car, the PU, hired the engineers and walks on water. In his sleep. ;)

Nico OTOH, despite having been there longer, and regularly beating (arguably) the best driver in the history of the sport, is just a useless tosser who gets lucky every weekend. :p

    Cheers,
    Ian

Now, now, credit where credit is due, as I understand it, Hamilton only designed the engine and turbo layout, the chassis design was something Nicole knocked up one afternoon whilst she was getting her hair done!

Of course, Hamilton should still get the credit I suppose because if he hadn't gone to Mercedes then they wouldn't have Nicole's chassis design! :p

    :)

    Shoulda took the second pill.

Its a shame that Alonso didn't have more success at Ferrari but its down to the poor cars he was given. He kept his silence for a while but nothing changed. He went public but nothing changed. Now some want to shoot the messenger.

I'm a lifelong Tifosi (Tifoso?) but in this case the team let him down repeatedly. If he is leaving I hope that he gets the success he deserves wherever he lands.

No glory for the Scuderia in this mess.

When ham told the team he would let rosberg through when he got close enough they agreed with that assessment. They never kept pushing or even said once for him to Lose two seconds by letting rosberg through, nor was that their intention. This position was reiterated after the race by the team who said hamilton did nothing wrong and they miscommunicated it to both drivers; thereby confirming my interpretation. Moreover, most f1 journalists felt that if ham WERE to let nico through by slowing down and losing 2 seconds (and thus positions to alonso and ricciardo) that would be grossly unfair and would lose the team net points anyway (wouldn't have been their intention).

I see the straw men are out in force today. I never claimed hamilton transformed the mercedes team by himself. I simply responded to a comment by someone who stated that hamilton disrupts teams by pointing out that Merc has excelled since his arrival. I also noted that Lauda said he brought positive momentum to the team and pointed out that the only disruptions this year at Merc were caused my nico (monaco qualy and taking LH out at spa)

All of what I said is reasonable. Not sure why there is cause to hate and twist my statements Into something they are not

That it appears to be yet another case of crazed egos in Maranello is indeed very worrying for their future..... They put a guy in charge who doesn't know one end of an F1 car from the other. Said guy then, basically, trashes (arguably) the best driver currently on the grid. (Outside of the mighty Hammy himself of course ;)).

Not looking promising. No wonder Fred (probably) said '**** it!'......
