Very, very beautiful Speciale. The colour combination with the wheels and the carbon sill is awesome. The stripe looks very nice too. Enjoy it in good health.
The Speciale A has a plate on the interior rear wall "international engine of the year". do all 458's have this plate? just curious. Image Unavailable, Please Login
That plate is definitely not stock. I've taken a seat in several Speciales and none had this. Normally, you can get your personal silver dedication plate on the rear wall. In a stock car the place is just empty.
The plaque is factory issue and is the only thing that Ferrari could brag about since F1 success is a thing of the past.
Doc how have you found the A/C to be? For some reason I find it to be worse than the 458. Congratulations on the car!
Rod, congrats on the new car, it looks amazing. Glad you got to add a few special touches, we did that and love it. FWIW we did not get any "engine" plaque, but we did get the Ferrari 60 Years in US plaque (which is a nice add; it was where the F1 plaque was in our 12 458) As for noise...and heat (i.e. A/C). The car has much, much less insulation than the Italia. That, plus the (very) thin glass, really amps up the drivetrain and road noise. We've also noticed the cabin runs warmer (less insulation). A/C seems as good (or not) as the 458. The car is loud...on concrete roads, at speed, in the rain....exhaust adds some but it's just a loud car (but a great sound).
my dealer is suggesting that i order the optional "heat insulating windshield" for $1,265 or so. he says it really does help keep the interior cooler. i'm skeptical. what do you think? i don't think i've ever seen anybody on fchat mention ordering this option.
