There have been worse conditions at China and Malaysia. It was only towards the end that the full wet tires came out. I can't recall who went in first for them, but shortly after, Jenson Button dove into the pit lane for full wets, and was the first of the front runners to put them on.
I have to download the race and re-watch it again. Was Nico on older intermediates than Lewis? While we're comparing teammates, using Lewis as a measure, who do you think is faster, Jenson or Nico?
Which race are we talking about? Yesterday's? Malaysia or china? Margins were 17 sec 18 sec and 14 sec for suzuka before count back took it to 9 Nico has more pace than Jensen over a lap but Jensen far better race craft
+1 and it does not make much sense to discuss that AFTERWARDS. And if the Bianchi accident did not happen nobody would have talked about that, they would have simply ended that race on heavy wets... I think the drivers know best how it is on track and I wonder what they said before the race. There used to be a driver association and I think as they are the main players in the game (at least during the race) they should have talked about it and under which conditions they are willing to drive. I know it did not happen that often in the past but I guess they have the power to boycott a race if they think it is to dangerous...The question might be whether there is a leader in this drivers association like in the days of Stewart or Schumacher or whether they are all doing what the teams tells them? Maybe one of the insiders might be able to say something about that.
The team principals asked for the race to be moved forward and Lauda said maybe it should have been done even though he has said it was handled well by the FIA. Some voiced concerns before the race and Vettel was much more pointed after the race. Yet those of us along with people like Brundle on SKY are not entitled to our opinions here about maybe even before the race some of us were posting why run it now and not earlier as it probably should have been done. I guess my couch is too comfy for me to form an opinion or Im not entitled to it by some members here. Insulting to be honest. I post because I like and care about F1. We all have opinions and its not about our comfy couches lol!

There was no offence in my posting, I just think it is to late now to discuss it, it can not be changed now. I know that there were some discussions here but I do not know how it was transported track side. When the teams did want it to run earlier, where they simply ignored or where they unable to talk with one voice?
You sort of are. You and toil are always on the attack for no apparent reason. My god...none of us will ever hear the end of it if Lewis doesn't win this year. and god save the world if Nico wins because of double points at the last race! Even *I* will have to stop posting then...it'll be unbearable in here.
No offence at all taken by me. Nothing was perfect about the weekend for F1 surely. Jules Bianchi crash: F1 drivers hope start time choice is analysed - F1 news - AUTOSPORT.com
Looks like you are. And it is absolutely ridiculous that you of all are talking about others tone. I have never seen a forum where posts like yours stay without consequence by the mods for so long but it looks like you are under some sort of species protection... As all you are saying is just provocative I do not care about your oppinion anymore. Never was the sentence "Never argue with an idiot, he will lower you to his level and beat you by experience" more true than in this case...And experience you have a lot in that according your post count. So after 10 years in different forums you are finally the first person who made it on my ignore list but as I can see what you posted in the past you might be even proud of that although you need someone different to spent your day on... Unfortunately this does not solve the problem of you hijacking every thread with your Hamilton-praising bashing, "funny pictures" on the level of 10 year olds and stupid one-liner about three-legged horses winning whatever. Have a nice rest of life.
Im sorry if I have offended anyone here of late. We witness a great sport. Im happy to be here with all of you. I find it to be a good forum overall. Cheers, David - DF1
and if I've posted anything that anyone has found offensive...... STIFF! I tell it like it is. P.Singhof...don't put him on ignore. Just laugh at him like I do. Watching their reactions and double standards is hilarious! Of course it's possible that I just have an odd sense of humour
Would it make any sense to stop races when conditions prohibit emergency aircraft (helicopters) from being used? I mean, what's the point of requiring the safety crew and helicopter if they can't be used. I hope Bianchi's unfortunate accident causes this to be re-evaluated.
That is an issue after an accident though. We need to stop the cause of such an accident in the first place by NOT using tractors to remove stricken cars. See: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/f1/463571-car-removal-tractors.html Pete
I think that was not the problem. The helicopter took off so it seems that it could fly but according to the reports in TV and internet there would have been no advantage to take him by helicopter rathern than ambulance. At least this is what was said in German television...
OMG...you're kidding!! lol This is so enlightening....so the guy who won the race was faster than the chap who didn't? That just never happens.
