We will test in mid November in camo but will have some photos and video.

Out team members have built/designed some of the finest bespoke cars in the world and Helicopter interiors and we can do something spectacular if a customer wants. We can also add our F1 KERS system should a customer want it. We're restoring Modulo using some of the guys who built it. We have access to very talented craftsmen, designers and engineers. Our Aerodynamicist for example designed the Peugeot LMP1 cars and several current P2 Cars. Our main designer designed the Ferrari Modena. The answer is if a customer can tell us his dreams we can realize them. Compared to those who charge 3K euro for CF cup holders our prices are reasonable. I'm hopeful our Geneva Road car will be very special, exterior and interior.

 

I can't help but wonder whether what he says he about the 12C and the 650S may not upset McLaren fanboys, namely, these being too "clinical" and that McLaren had "taken onboard" that criticism when they designed the P1. Odd thing is that the 650S was introduced after the P1, not before...but let's not get facts in the way of a good 'punch line'...I also did not get the impression that all of his co-presenters were won over by his arguments.

Massive props to Napolis for what they are doing with their fledgling marque and one can but wish them well. Ferrari, Porsche, McLaren and just about every current sportscar maker started out like this and very few stay true to their goals, even Ferrari don't concentrate on racing to their detriment. Whatever direction it takes, we here on FC of watching the birth of an amazing Racing GT perhaps the spiritual successor of the GTO, drive to the track, race hard, wash it off and drive to Paris for dinner on the Champs Elysee...

I note from several of the recent pages that a lot of posters are facing up to the fact that like all manufacturers the dream and the reality of their favourite company aren't the same. The original F1 was a spec built road/racer that was built for ultimate usability without concern for cost. The only parts that were not perfect were the needless ones like indicator stalks and rear lights (Ford parts if I recall correctly). The cars were something like 600k pounds sterling/ $1 million USD when new and certainly beat every benchmark there was. That amount is inflation adjusted to roughly $1.7 million in todays cash money. The car was also bankrolled by Sheik Ojjeh, the man behind TAG oil amongst other things and the objective was to retain Gordon Murray by allowing him to design the ULTIMATE. There were no concerns for financial viability.

With their return and the hype around the 12C everyone was waiting for the new challenger to Ferrari or the F1 successor and for a lot the car was almost there but not quite. But wait, the P1 is coming and that would truly be the successor to the F1. But like anything that gets revisited, McLaren has changed, they must make money off everything they sell in 2014, it is a business. So they have designed a car that has had various design compromises like all series production cars do. Ferrari and Porsche have been there and down that, releasing an amazing car and then a yawn-mobile. Just because it has a badge, doesn't mean it has to be loved or hated.

Coming back to what Jim is doing, and Pagani and a very few other car companies is making bespoke tailor made cars that aren't designed with any regard except what the FIA stipulate and what I could afford. I could go and say SCG I want rocket thruster's and gold wheels with diamonds in them and don't forget the shagpile carpets or whatever my cheque book can handle. This is akin to what McLaren did with the F1 and what Ferraris bread and butter was in the 1950s and 1960s. Indeed it could be imagined that Bruce McLaren and Enzo Ferrari will be cheering them on from their special spot in heaven and I bet when the SCG03 takes to the Ring next because the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus is hella closer to the spirit of the two pioneers than Ferrari SPA or McLaren Ltd PLC are today.

On the topic of ridiculous brand-bastardisation, will ever see eau de cologne by SCG, Jim? OR maybe a nice range of SCG golf umbrellas? SCG World theme-park?

 

In reality 918 outperform P1 from 0-60, 60 to 130 even in 0-186, and it is very funny to me
that in all real magazine tests and h2h tests also 918 outperform P1, Here in middle east a close friend of mine who is a member of this Forum too , he is the owner of a very beautiful 918 Weissach pack and he always defeated all P1s here (till now he defeated 4 P1s)

Please be assured that the difference between the two is much more pronounced than your imagination , 918 will almost always defeated P1 in both Road and Track , Perhaps you will see in youtube so many videos in witch 918 outperform P1 very soon,

Seriously though Ryan sent me updated renderings of the car, including the interior, and, WOW, it looks awesome! Well done!

 

As someone with a P1 on order I'm perfectly OK if this is the case and it won't decrease my enjoyment of the car one bit. I'll be having plenty of fun in the car and its performance already exceeds my abilities and courage

There are plenty of higher-volume, lower-priced cars that can outrun more expensive, more exotic cars. I think folks at both ends of this spectrum are still having lots of fun regardless of that. Lower-priced Porsches can outrun a Ferrari 458 yet that doesn't stop people buying and enjoying their 458s.

 

Don't worry leave all this Internetn talk aside once you take delivery of your P1, you will know why many who drove the 918 and the P1 picked the P1 without looking back.

Me included.

I myself if didn't went looking for a laferrari I would'ven be looking at another P1 now to own not a 918 even at half price.

That's me anyway.

Congrats on your purchase and I really hope that you enjoy it in good health, Opinions are vary from person to person and I am the one who respect to your opinion, for example I prefer 918 to P1 even in my opinion the 918's value must be much more expensive than P1 in reality, and I appreciate Porsche very much for their reliable Cars with very good Prices as well, I have had some amazing experiences with 918 both as a driver and passenger as well as with P1, but in my opinion 918 is far beyond the P1 in any terms, it is faster, more planted , more predictable in both road and track plus spectacular sound due to the +9000rpm and specially Top Pipes

In brief, P1 more exciting and better handling and far superior over 150. 0-200 took a shade over 20 secs in the Macca and 30 in the Porsche, despite them being almost neck and neck at 150. No winner, but 918 better for general use on the public road, more refined and broader range of abilities, yet every bit as quick where it counts; but you need a p1 as well.

Who will get the first three way test?

 

But but but....it's a British magazine offcourse they are going to say the p1 is faster

Sorry mate, but same this test car 918 gave TWICE low 19sec for 0-300km/h. (Ams and AZ).
Too easy ball if you want to be serious with me, drift...

 

Over 150 is where these cars really matter anyway, since I can do 150 all day long in my daily driver....

 

You do realize that your figures are in km/h.

 

Offcourse not, feelings matter below those speeds in a daily driver
