It won't guarantee immediate success, although it will be better. Look at Mclaren & Force India..

Whoa!.... That very much increases the chances of Fred, or even Seb, heading there.....

I'm starting to suspect these guys are currently convinced, rightly or wrongly, that they can't win without a Merc lump. (Sorry, 'PU';)).

Both of them have the capability to bring many sponsorship $ along.

    The plot thickens........

    Cheers,
    Ian

Now that that's happened, I'm thinking it's between McLaren and returning to his old championship-winning team for Alonso.

It's be interesting to see the McLaren and Lotus driver lineups confirmed.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Good news! I hope the finances are in order. We need more strong teams!

I predicted that a while ago. I bet Strolls money is behind this.

Now Alonso has a real alternative.

Between Honda getting up to speed and Lotus rebuilding 2015 looks like a transition year. But still preferable to the chaos at Ferrari. Seb will find out the hard way.

Ferrari is basically starting with a clean slate. I don't think Seb would have jumped over if nothing had changed. There's a very good chance things will improve, and I'm sure Vettel thought it was a risk worth taking. How much will the improvement be? We'll find out soon enough :). But I'm optimistic. Ferrari has what it takes to be at the top at any moment; it just needs to get its act together, and hopefully the new management and driver lineup will do just that.

What kind of money does Alonso bring to a team? Would any amount be enough to rescue Lotus at this point?

    Certainly not for 2015.

Who will be faster in 2015, mclaren with a new engine or lotus with the best engine? I bet on the second

Is there any engineering talent left at Lotus? McLaren has shown this year that a Mercedes PU does not guarantee success.

This is what I am thinking. Much of the talent has already jumped ship so they could get paid. It would be a huge gamble for FA to go back there.

Hope so... Raikkenin @ Lotus rekindled my interest in F1 after Michael left the sport. Just being honest here. Always loved Ferrari, always loved Lotus.

    IMHO

He didn't put his $ into Sauber.
