A link with other motor row dealers. This is really a nice section of buildings as the car makers spent alot of money designing the buildings to a high standard. I like the Thomas Flyer, Marmon, Ford and BFG buildings.

Chicago - Architecture & Cityscape: Motor Row Historic District

    http://chicago-architecture-jyoti.blogspot.com/2009/09/motor-row-historic-district-iii.html

The second link has a front image of the FIAT showroom wich he thinks is another FORD showroom(wrong). The old picture of the FIAT dealer in the pfd does show FIAT's in the showroom. This was before Marchionne started at FIAT otherwise they would have gotten them in 2 more years:)

And what they are doing with them now in todays world........ They did bring in a FORD dealer to one of the old buildings. The original FORD dealer on the page is the first built outside of Detroit.

And here is how this page of posts tie together. Here is a photo of the planned Marriott Marquis McCormick Place hotel and stadium. This will be tied to the Lucas museum wich will tied to the Northerly Island park/bridge project. And guess what, it's all next to Motor Row.

The 1910 FIAT dealer is in the very bottom middle of the photo, the southern part of Motor Row......

Block 37 highrise at around 450ft and 451 East Grand at 843ft. Not a fan of 451 E Grand. Hope they drop the hight so it wont stand out. Beige and retro..yuk. It might look good at street level if the details are well done.

We need more like the bottom two......By the way the Spire is still in court fighting who will have control of the site, Kelleher the original devoloper or Atlas the new developer.
    Third party is still Related.

Two more buildings just finishing up the approval process that should start construction within a few months. The Block 37 highrise is now under construction. 451 E Grand will start early next year.

Kind of funny and suprising link for all those who live in the growing southern states like Texas...All the negative press and Chicago still managed to do this..................

Wonder who the idiot was that designed the entry canopy and/or approved it.... what a horrible effing monstrosity.

Looks like something the Post Office would do. Ugh.

That was designed in the former Soviet Union :)

Here are some photos of 201 North Columbus Drive. Top is at 643ft. This is stuffed on a very narrow lot next to Aqua.

    Worthwhile.

Another photo of the Wanda building announced today. Will start construction late 2015/early 2016. I like it alot after seeing the detailed renderings. Kind of science fiction.

I was driving one block from the Chicago Auto show on Michigan Avenue and had to take a picture of this building. It is the oldest remaining North American FIAT dealer building built around 1910 as a FIAT franchise!! It is under restoration.
