I passed on that. I get Clearplex windshield film anyway that will decrease the UV and heat as well as protect it from stone chips.

Ferrari claims that this windshield prevents unnecessary heating of the cabin and dash materials. It might add some weight but get you UV filtering glass, which in fact is good for the material inside the car but it depends on how you are using the car and where you live I guess. I've seen a 430 Scuderia with melted a/c outlets and wavy leather on the dash after it had been parked outside at over 40 degrees for a couple of days.(I can hand in some photos later)

About the noise level - it is a bit extreme when you are just 'riding along'.
I had to drive on the highway while it was slightly raining. At some point I turned off the audio because the poor sound quality. Afterwards I recognized how loud the tires get inside the car - especially on a wet surface. My impression is that the Speciale is even noisier than a Scuderia but, unfortunately, with less noise being generated by the exhaust system.

I was talked into it a couple of years ago on my Spider, and I actually think it made a difference...that windshield is a big piece of glass. No scientific data, but I did just order it again.

Thank you for insights on the optional heat insulating windshield. I'll give it a try.

I have it on my Speciale. It seems to work well; but we are just heading into summer which will really test it out.

I did spec the insulated glass as well. Should prevent dash material shrinkage to some degree.

Pass. Have your shop install a 3M Crystal film that will do wonders for heat load on the cabin and run you a couple of hundred $$.

I'll do a forum search on this topic, but if you don't mind can you tell me more about the pros and cons of 3M crystal film? Can you tell something has been applied to the windshield? Any distortion to visibility? I read somewhere that windshield film is softer than glass so it tends to get pitted fairly quickly. I don't mind the idea of replacing the film periodically if it really protects and extends the life of the windshield AND if it doesn't distort visibility. Thank you for any insights you can give me :)

Noooooope. I'm an austere monk. Golden rims are already "Rock'n roll" for me ;)... But I tolerate them because of the Renault Clio Williams, one of the mightiest french car.

    Stripes look stupid.

Wait, this is a show off our new car thread. So someone is happy about their striped/not striped car,

    OOoohh maybe Red/NART/black so rare.

And people take liberty to criticize? I haven't owned an 8 in years, forgot total lack of manners in some.

If you can't say "nice car", or "enjoy in health", hope you reap your negative karma.

What's got your striped panties in a bundle? We're just having fun here.

You're rude. We've both been here longer than many, and it's appalling. Classless with credit.
Know a lot of guys in this thread, and it isn't only you. But I'm pretty much fed up with every posted car getting dissed. Not really fun, and their isn't an arbiter of taste on the board. I frankly don't care if someone likes a color or not. But just like in ad posts, people offer unwanted shots. If you can't get that, well, it'll be ugly when you hit a real problem in life.

Not really. 19th Fcar at dealer, I posted it here. Usually buy 12's, but happy with Spec.
Sour grapes over rudeness? No. But keep thinking that if it makes your little ego feel better since you got caught.

All I got to say is, we are all on this forum because we share a passion for cars, in particular F-Cars. Lets stick to it….I have seen so many pics that are way beyond my taste, but its personal. Lets get back to enjoying everyones peculiar tastes and options….if we all liked the same thing…this would be one boring ass thread. Now lets stop pissing about and post some more pics!!!

On that note, I get to maranello on the 27th for my tailor-made Speciale appt…..cant wait! Its gonna be ugly as hell!!! AHAHAHHAHA!
