Is this Harald s car? Stunning color combo. Joe,you have an immense acces to old foto s and info, here s challenge for you. I lived i Housten as a young man back in 1980, there was a small independent sportscar dealership wich had a tahiti blue Countach with white and black interior, it was a poster car ( wing flairs and so on) the dealer was located south west of downtown just outside the highway circle. Just fun to see if you now the car and its history. I was drooling over it at the time, took another 5 years before i drove my first Countach.

Mystery as Lamborghini Countach Left 'Abandoned' on Tower Bridge Is this real or replica? Does someone know story behind this? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ex alberto, because it was for sale by belgian citizen. The paint was not a good job and the detailling of engine bay not perfect. Interior was of very good retrim. I inspected it for a LCB member. P Personnaly, a 5000S doesn't worth that !!!
....after so long in the U.S.A,and observing the globe for the marque. My ipinion is that Alberto's car is for the present situation one of the best ones out there, Olivier don't get me wrong! but knowing of the nowlige you have, give that car some credit!!! Countachs' have sold for more in less condition! As much that I can charicterize Alberto, he is a perfectionist! No affence to nowone.
A yellow RHD sitting in Italy was Sold a month ago for just a little bit less... That one is perfect and worthes to be up 300k . Yesterday We were so disapointed by the sub réaction of the paint coat making bubbles and waves... Définitively not a good quality paint when you look at it closely, despite the fact Alberto spent a lot on it !
The paint job was excellent, unfortunately the preparation was not up to par. I saw it as soon as it was delivered and it was spectacular, unfortunately the bodyshop removed the USA side markers and instead of welding in aluminum patches they opted to "fill" the USA side marker cutouts with fiberglass. Fiberglass, over time, moves and thus creating waves - magnified by the black lacquer. There were other issues that were not addressed but the car as a whole, is very solid. Practically every component was refurbished - sometimes more than once. This car was restored by Alberto with true passion! I am truly sorry that he let it go.
* paint on the door arms surrounding the Windows has air bubbles * paint on the front left fender has a wave of 30 centimers lenght of reaction from primer * paint on each extension fenders has "orange skin" as well as the lateral side of engine cover * paint on lower rear fender extension is hitted by so many stone chips * paint on each of 4 blinkers location is awfull exactly as you mentionned This paintjob was may be excellent when it was finished... But the quality of a paint is on medium term(6 to 3 years) to be evaluated/scored despite the fact the period owner was passionnate... I have nothing to say against Alberto, just a fact his contractor didn't make a real good job ! That fact exlains why I believe it is overscored for such quality level.
in the Modena - Bologna area Imperiale of Mirandola, in my opinion, is the best. I did a full re-spary right before the 40th and went back in 2008 for the usual "stone chip" service - a truly top notch organization - when my DD was painted they were doing the first Murcis. Highly reccomended!
a close friend of mine did his Diablo 6.0 VT at Imperiale back in 2009, and it is still like new with no defect and 16.000 km more on its tacho !
A 5000S (or anything) is worth what the market will pay, the law of supply & demand, simple economics.
How many years have I read on this thread how the Countach did not get the respect it deserved. How the F cars were always more respected and therefore deserving of their value. When they went up, people here lamented the fact that the Countach was always left yet again on the Island of Misfit cars. So now they get their day in the sun, and the same people start saying they don't deserve it. This whole part of "FerrariChat is for Lamborghini enthusiasts. Like Ronald Reagan said "Don't eat your own."
simply stated by someone who has no lesson to give when we just have to remember the blue Countach he sold some time ago with a ratio : quality description/price ! So for your point, you misunderstood my state : I agree that some cars deserve to be in these prices gap - and I'm very happy it happens - while others don't match description and don't deserve such value at hammer... and I'm sharing with many others collectors's thoughts (that I met this week end at Bonhams sale & at Knokke Concours of Elegance) that the market raises too quickly these 2 last years ! Hoping it is clear for you by now.
This is the car that ran out of petrol and was left on tower bridge, can anyone shed some light on the unusual features, there seem to be some air outlets on the back of the air inlet ears and also some sort of winglets or aerodynamic feature under the exhaust. I know some have cast aspersions as to whether it's a real countach but it looks to be a real one, maybe an FI model judging by the shape of the rear deck. Image Unavailable, Please Login
