Actually it matched them both but at the end of the day it's just a vulgar ricer. You can get yourself a 2000 HP Lambo if you are into drag racing and literally blown engines.

 

The one I'm considering is a 917-30. 0-200 in 11 seconds and a lot faster than any of these will ever be. Fitted with a coupe body it would make a nice addition to my Sunday drivers.

As they are circa 1970 road registering one is a non issue.

 

At first I thought you were joking but if there's anyone to do something like that, it's you. That would be perhaps the most epic street car on the planet.

You may have to start a new thread or I can see this one getting derailed pretty quickly. Although that may be a good thing based on some of what's written in this 600 page black hole lol.

As a diehard Porsche Fan I am very happy it is because 918 is the fastest hyper car in the world at all types of tracks, on the other hand Bugati Veyron SS is the fastest hyper car at straight drag races due to its +410Km/h top speed, there for my conclusion is : if anyone who loves the straight lines drag races at speeds more than 300Km/h and wants to be the king of the world, Veyron Super Sport is his hyper car!
And if anyone who wants to be the King of all types of tracks and circuits then Porsche 918 is his ultimate weapon!
By the way, what happened to McLaren , First they claimed to make the fastest hyper car at all circuits and race tracks, then after they understands the Porsche 918 is the king of all race tracks then McLaren changed his mind and now they are fighting so hard for straight lines drag races above 300Km/h, and there is no any chance for P1 against a giant like Veyron Super Sport in the speeds higher than 320Km/h and above that!

 

That is a serious bit of Kit but as I occasionally like to make a turn or two I'm still going to chase the right 917 and or 917-30.

 

John's Venom is a lot faster than the Bug. The new Hybrid Bug coming in 2015 may give it a go but the current one doesn't.

In another contest Ferrari wins hands down. 2mm for a body kit. (F60) That Emperor has no clothes. Brand killer IMO. The La Spyder without hybrid should be interesting as should the Porsche 918 lightweight without hybrid. Good to see others going back to basics. Hopefull both will try to kiss 1/1 HP/KG.

Yes, but Venom is not a true(High Volume) hyper Car and there for it is not in my list!

2) Only above, say, 350 kph where the others will have topped out.

 

I think Porsche 918 as the Nurburgring Record holder can easily proven+ many more records at US and Europe circuits!
Also as an expert like Walter Röhrl confirmed 918 is faster than Veyron SS till 300Km/h and after that in speeds of above 300Km/h Veyron SS is faster due to 1200hp...

 

Of course Veyron Super Sport is the King at straight lines drag races only, 918 is the king in all types of roads and tracks! and in reality 918 is the fastest hyper car in the world! Veyron ss is the fastest in term of top speed!

The problem with 917's is that the drivers feet are ahead of the front axle and until sorted they were widowmakers. Real 917's with history start at 20MM and go up from there.

There are very few 917-30's (Can Am Version) and those's require SERIOUS driving ability.

The Count Rossi Road car is fantastic but I doubt his children will ever sell it.

The #22 car was going to be auctioned at Pebble but was pulled at the last moment. DG may know more.

There was a recent article (forgot where; but it's easy to find), where the reporter mentioned, Bruce Canepa was offered $30 mil for his 917 and turned it down.

Of course, the alleged Steve McQueen/Leman's Movie 917 was to be auctioned this year (many speculated it would fetch $23-$30 mil), and it was abruptly pulled off the action block; literally. Lol. Not sure what happened there, unless there was a question of authenticity (and I'm not saying that; just idle speculation)? So if you get one; god bless/have fun Jim!!
