The forum search didn't turn up the answer. Hopefully this is an easy one. I need to replace a tail light bulb, the outer one called directional/dipping.
The manual says a P21/5w. You don't see those at autozone.
What is the equivalent bulb? I see some Google references to 1156 or 1157. Are these right, and if so, which one should I buy?

And for that matter can I use one of these in all three of the sockets or do they take different bulbs? If I'm going in I might as well replace them all.

Hi Bob, I replaced all of my tail lights with the LED kit from Stef. My original tail lights are in my garage in the upper shelf. I will take a look for you tomorrow to see what bulbs are installed and report back.

Bob, all bulbs in my rear tailights are 1157. my reverse are 1156... when looking at the 1157 bulb you will see two filaments inside. 1156 will have one...

So upon further investigation, Ive found that the RH side front and LH side rear bulbs are out. Maybe it's not the bulbs? If I look at the manual, it appears that one fuse controls the "dipping" lights on opposite sides of the car. Fuse 23, a 5 amp fuse. Am I reading that right?

And that the fuse looks like it's located in the trunk on the driver's side under a piece of carpet. Am I reading that correctly as well? Does the carpet just unscrew, does anyone know?

My understanding is it's behind the driver's seat, behind the carpet.
From what I've been reading in other posts, it's screws that let you take the panel of carpet off.

That sounds like a blown fuse issue indeed.

Yes, those fuses are located in the luggage compartment. Just follow the owners manual.

Yes, the carpet are held by allen screws. Just unscrew it and the carpeted panel will come out.

Note that some of the allen screws are of different length and for a good reason so make sure you put the right length of screws back where they originally belong.

Thanks Dan. This might be related to the post a week or so ago :Did my glovebox kill my car? The techs spent 9 hours pulling lots of electrical things apart trying to find the electrical short. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck...

I'll be pulling the panel off tonight to see what I can find. Maybe for ...once... it'll be an easy fix. The key in the manual was the reference to the caddy-corner lights out otherwise I woulda missed it.
