Congrats Ted. I also know what it's like to drive a refreshed car. I just got mine back after having some suspension work done including new tires, rods, bushings. What a difference. It was like night and day. I can't wait to hear your impressions.

You must have really kept Dave busy. I had an appointment with him for this past May and i still have yet to hear from him as to when my car goes in.

I hope you had a great summer.

    Regards,
    Brian

Slightly off topic...mind sharing info on your MB/ Sprinter...we need a long distance small RV type vehicle and yours looks ideal.

You mean this guy? I LOVE this darn thing. Its finally off moving van duty (moved from IL to NC) and going in for full a RV treatment (black leather reclining captains/sofa/24"TV etc) on Monday. Its our skiing up north, surfing the outer banks, car show, family truckster.

I special ordered it from MBUSA in 2013 and it arrived 3 months later. I spec'd it just the way i wanted it leaving a lot of the MB nonsense off. I prefer the 3500 over the 2500 for stability, comfort and pulling cap. Love the diesel and the 20 mph. This is my 3rd and will get another when the time comes.

feel free to pm me for more details

Ted, glad to hear things are on track. I think you should drive it home :) Nothing wrong with driving a Mondial in the snow, but I do have all season tires on mine.

PV - I know where you're coming from - - and you're correct and logical. But I think that in this case, with all that Ted and Valenzo have been through - - with these final and positive release papers from D. Helms .......... Ted now has the confidence to take "home delivery" of a treasured car that he no longer has to worry about (car or service).

Finally, the Leitter family can welcome home, a truly healthy and happy Valenzo.

And i get to be a part of that Scuderia Rampante weekend, that cheers the sending of Valenzo, back home.

How cool is this ?? New Friends, Beer, Brats, Wine, Music !!! :):):)

Sounds to me like he had a full restoration, which doesn't make sense given near mint condition of the car prior to being dropped off.

Well. It's done. Something that should have been done, 2 years ago. It's disgusting what I was forced to endure to get my car properly serviced, but it's over now. Basically, I sent my Mondial to Dave Helms @ SRI because I simply chose the wrong place to do my major the first time. I was new and naive and I was taken grossly advantage of, but I digress.

My beautiful Mondial was delivered Sat afternoon. The horseless carriage contained other beauties such as a Chip Foose 50's stock Impala heading to him for a restoration mod...

After signing the all good papers, I immediately dropped the top and piled in the kids and Sandra and spent the rest of the day driving around, getting ice cream and taking in the local car show. It was a great afternoon.

Now filled will travel dust and finger prints, it was a gorgeous sight for very sore eyes. I immediately called over my favorite Detailer to get to work. Even though TMan (what a great guy) detailed it before leaving CO, it needed a full d e t a i l. He spent 8 hours on just the interior. He'll be back tomorrow for the exterior.

My Mondial runs perfectly! Dave Helms and his crew are true Ferrari experts and my car acts exactly as it was meant to. In the 3.5 years of ownership, it never drove this well.

Thank you, thank you, Dave and to the fine family of SRI.

Ted, I'm happy for you. After the nightmare you had with the first service you deserved a good one for this time. I know you will enjoy it to the max.

One positive thing I have to say about your first experience. We had a good thread to follow ;-). You've entertained us for many months.

    Drive in good health!
