all the cars are great, but it's really hard to argue with the 288's classic and muscular lines!

If I'm not mistaken, an image from this photo shoot appeared on the September 1985 issue of Car and Driver magazine. Road test of both a Euro-spec Testarossa and 288GTO were inside. The Testarossa actually performed slightly better than factory claims, the GTO not quite. The GTO showed VERY low mileage however which could explain much of this. Also of note was curb weight for the GTO of 2880lbs with fuel tanks FULL. Considering that 120L/31.7 US gal/26.4 Imp gal weighs 200lbs and the car was equipped with both A/C and power window options, it was not far off the 2557lbs listed by the factory.

Martyn sold me his entire 1984 GTO image archives including all outtakes, for the GTO book, most are featured somewhere in there.

Zoute Concours, Knokke-Heist, Belgium, Oktober 12th. There was also a LaFerrari. There should have been two F40s, don't know if they both turned up.

That would have been a nice combo: Bo Derek and the 288 GTO...
