Good move. Testarossa is more iconic, more fun, 12 cylinder, and has a bright future ahead of it. Dinos are going nowhere but down. Most overvalued Ferrari in the market today, you sold it at the perfect time.

Congrats on the new ride. I can relate to the exaust issue...way to quiet. I had mine less than 2 weeks before I put an X-ost on. Then hear the music play :)

I have a Nuovalari and think it is perfect. A bit louder than a Tubi (too quiet in my humble opinion) and half the cost. You can cruise along on the highway with no drone and then when you hammer it that Ferrari music is more than loud enough.

Just preparing him for his future, wish someone would have did the same for me 15 yrs ago.

You can hold off on thanking me, and he hasn't bought yet.

Go back and reread his post, he is searching !

Er... No. I also bought one over the summer, sorry if that wasn't clear.
I spent many evenings reading posts in this section which have been very helpful so I'm prepared.... Thanks to all of you!
Anyway, compared to a full Dino restoration the 512TR is cheap motoring! :)

Yep Thanks. They can be trying at times.
I do not wish to further hijack Tom's thread with my stuff - just wanted to thank him for the grigio color inspiration...

Nice one Tom, welcome. Must have been great to enjoy the Dino while it was putting coin in your pocket. I'm sure everyone here hopes the same for the TR.

I am running Larini exhaust on mine. Italian muscle car below 4000 and shrieking F1 car above. Nothing like it...must be some change from the Dino!

I got the TR back just in time for the Holidays. The new wheels and rubber are mounted, 'custom' exhaust installed, alignment done. More seat time today and took a few pics. This thing drives really really nice .... and that motor, WOW! I can't say enough about it and I can finally hear it with the new exhaust, dang its intoxicating. (shhh, don't tell the Dino guys) :)

Merry Christmas to all you FChatters out there.

I have had several of each. You made an excellent move from either a monetary view point, or from a future investment view point. All the hype on cost of ownership of a T/R is so silly, I have put on 20K+ miles on my latest T/R and have had one major service it cost 7K and that included all new hoses, fuel and water, clutch and pressure plate I provided the parts that I got from from Dave in Bolder Co.. Not a big deal considering that I will not have to do anything to the car going forward, and the value of the car in the coming years is going no where but up. Maybe someone might have a better idea on where to put a few $ for the coming years. I'm going to get a clean NSX next !

Merry Christmas. Great choice on the wheels. I did the same and love them. My car has a custom exhaust and I think it's a little quiet. Would love to hear a sound clip or two of yours! Demetri

I agree on the exhaust system, but I prefer the original wheels. If i were to change it, would be to the center lock ones.
Whenever I see a TR with 512 wheels, it gives me the impression that is is trying to look more modern.

Congratulations on the new car, Nera TR's are trully menacing.

Yes wheels are a personal thing. In our business we sometimes reference them to the tie of a 'suit and tie'. I totally get it that most or many will want to keep their cars dead stock and I can respect that. But for me the 18" 512TR wheel is great since it was offered just a year or so after my car was built, 22 years ago. It's totally different IMHO than outfitting the TR with some new, NEW rims that have a certain aftermarket look. But hey, whatever floats your boat, that's cool too. The other things it does well is fill out the wheel opening better (not so sucked in), has a great 3D shape (TR wheels are very flat, 2D), and opens up all kinds of tire choices. :)

    Tom,

Gorgeous TR. Love the stance! Nothing like a "Flat Twelve"!
