To date, tough to say. But I suspect it won't be capped like the Speciale A (or like the 16M)... just like the 430 Scud wasn't capped capped.

That would make the values plummit like it did with scud

Indeed. But, you'll note they only explicitly capped the Speciale A, not the Speciale... just as they did with the 16M vs. Scud.

I've been to the factory twice this year and both times it seemed they were pumping out speciale pretty quickly.

Indeed. I'm pretty sure, like the Scud, the Speciale was never intended to be super limited (unlike the 599 GTO, 16M, LaFerrari, Speciale A).

I was told no more Speciale's available last month. I am on a list. Will have to see if things change...

It's been said that there is no production limit but there is a time limit to the speciale production line. I believe they stop production march or anything early 2015

Don't know about the Speciale but my Australia bound Speciale A is a June 2015 build and we normally get them fairly late - so wonder if the end of production of both versions of the Speciale is soon after that.

I've also heard that people are now being told no when asked about Speciale orders... I know i would be upset if i were on the other side of that fence.

with marchionne now at the helm all bets are off.

if he is already touting an increased % production on the LaFerrari, we can almost guarantee specialé production #s will dwarf any of its predecessors significantly and at that level, the #s really don't matter anymore.

mattiaci in a US interview originally quoted 200 coupes first year, then 150 coupes second year for the US market. but in a later interview the first year figure suddenly got bumped to 300 and a tbd second year??

sounds sketchy to me, go figure...here's a link to the original US interview for the US market:

I don't know why, but it felt really awkward listening to that interview...

Didn't somebody mention in another thread that the Speciale coupes are already sold out?
My dealer has not been taking any new deposit for the Speciale for a few months now.

Yeah, I've been reading that and was told by a good friend of mine in the UK that it is the case, but who knows for sure.

I asked the question at the recent Ferrari Days meet at Silverstone in the UK. I was told by a Ferrari UK guy that the last cars will be built in March 15 and the total volume world wide will be around 1800 cars.
My car is due to be built in January 15 according the dealer I have my order with. He is not accepting orders anymore. It seems each UK dealer has sold between 16 cars which means around 200 odd cars in the UK. As the UK is a fairly big market that supports the overall figure of 1800 to 2000 worldwide. I asked how many Scuds were sold and he said Ferrari have never given out the figure but he thought was a lot higher maybe even as high 3000 cars worldwide.

So what we thought before that the production number is likely to be between that of the CS and the Scud is probably correct for the Speciale.

Marchionne never said or even insinuated anything like that. He spoke of a potential rise in overall production from the 7000 units that is currently pegged at. Since then though he has backtracked by saying that the production is fine as it is.

"Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne isn’t set to take the chairman of Ferrari role from Luca di Montezemolo until next month, but he’s already planning to do something his predecessor was opposed to throughout his tenure. Speaking at an event late last week, Marchionne divulged his plans of increasing production of Ferrari vehicles, including the LaFerrari , to meet with customer demand."

And at the recent 60th celebration he told folks that he was indeed increasing LaFerrari production but as a "limited edtn" coupe variant, which translates to me as, a technicalilty so current LaF owners can't sue.

We already have seen a US bump of 499 SpecialéA's from 458...and the cars will not be individually numerically badged ie all will be badged as 1 of 499. what concrete indication have you seen that would prove otherwise?

    Those figures don't add up.

If we all agree that the limited prod model accounts for roughly 10-15% of total production then what you're saying is Ferrari produced roughly a total of 12,750 cars in each of the 2 years of production when the scuderia was being produced.

Fact: The Ferrari factory total output at the time was only 4,500 a year...

I dont think anyone really knows; not even Ferrari themselves about the Speciale production numbers.

I was told by my dealer that there are no more available and they have allocated all they are going to get. I was one of the lucky ones; fortunate for me as I am getting one and I just finished the order for a January build slot. I am excited!

Yeah.. thats a standard trick. Lambo does it too.. makes 3 of that one Lambo.. then 14 of the same lambo roadster style. Owners were pissed. Cheap trick.

This doesn't add up. The La is a limited edition coupe to begin with. I stand by what I wrote.

Since when does Ferrari stick to the # of advertised cars? This is why they don't individually number them like Porsche of Lamborghini do (i.e., my GT2 RS has a unique #, but my 599 GTO? Just says 1 of 599).

How would we ever know if there are exactly 599 599 GTO's? :)

And we know they did this with the Enzo already. ;)
