OK...so I purchased a new air intake hose and the old-style band clamps.

My question is, can someone please confirm how we're supposed to fasten these? Is the method simply to (A) pass the end of the metal strip through the rotating "pin" and (B) rotate the pin to fold the band over? Or, is there another method?

Just want to make sure I do this properly.

    Thank you!

Anchor it like you did in the second picture. Then the free end wraps around twice (at least it does on mine) before you put pin in to tighten. Kinda' difficult to explain, but if you just went around once, you'd have too much extra left over.

A pain to tighten. I use a blunt-edge 90 degree pick to turn the key.

The last pic shows a good finised product.
The tail of the band goes down then the band goes around the hose once and under the cotter pin. It goes around again and through the split in the cotter pin and clipped off to the proper length. The pin is wound in the direction that winds the strap on the bottom side as shown and should wind around about twice when the strap is tight. It takes a little practice to get that all correct but if you end up just like the last picture you did good.

Thank you both!! This helps quite a bunch. I had to read through your written instructions a few times to make sure I could visualize the process.

Brian...when you say "...and clipped off to the proper length.", any guidance of how much of the band should be remaining once pushing through the cotter pin?

I'll take pics of my finished product and post. Thank you!

Thanks for the direct contact info. I haven't had much luck with their website- usually get a server error message...
