Red Bull has REGRESSED under Vettel...and so has Vettel... Ricciardo is the better driver. But Merc is eating their lunch. Get it?

    Best

BTW RED Bull F1 car aka Infiniti is 90% BLUE.

Even if Ferrari had the best driver on the grid (arguably they have and others think they will have in Vettel) if they don't have a strong and focused leader guiding the team to build a competitive car, Ferrari is a long way from a return to form.

Full commitment to winning is different than a half hearted attempt, I hope Mattiachi and Marchionne are up to the task.

Yes, probably. But if Alonso would have won in this car for some reasons no one would say it is just by luck. Or look at this year with Hamilton winning in an even more superior car. When Vettel won a race from start to finish after having pole we are told that is boring and everyone could do this in this car and when Hamilton does the same we are told what a great race he drove...
And you said 4 drivers so we agree that Vettel is one of 4-6 drivers on top of the list. But when you read this forum and who would beat him easily one could get the impression that Vettel had the luck of having the only of 19 possible team mates he could beat as everyone else is better and this is just insane.
That said my conclusion would be the following: replace Vettel by Alonso or even Hamilton in the Red Bull and they might have won 4 champiopnships as well. Replace Webber in the RB by the former two and neither Vettel, Alonso or Hamliton would have won 4 in a row as they are to even and would probably won two each...

Vettel is a worthy champion and for 4 seasons with pressure and competition did what few others can or have done. He was able to maintain a high level of performance and succeed. When that is not qualification for respect there is no hope here on this forum at all.

Pedro my good man, on this occasion please forgive me, but I do not want to walk down this well worn path again......

Hamilton as ruled by the powers that be, was deemed to be innocent, and that's it, end off.

    Agreed.

Seb is super as is Fred. But that will not make the Ferrari into a winner. The company seems in total chaos.

Fred has shown that a great driver can carry a dog of a car to the occaisional podium.
No driver is great enough to carry a dog of a team to a championship.

No race where someone leads start to finish without ant challenge is gripping. No one said that. Sure it's still entertaining and I'll watch every second of it because I love f1 but it's not super gripping as far as race standards go. But compared to last year there have been many great races - even though merc is dominant the few races where nico and Lewis were fighting hard have been very interesting/ the races Lewis came through from the back/ the Monaco and spa controversies have been gripping and entertained us for most of the season. The problem with vettels championship years are he never had a worthy teammate but even more than that his team mate always had bad luck which made him look even worse. Though webber did nearly beat Vettel once. Vettel is a good driver not a great one imo.

Maybe not so much as in worthy, as he did what was required, he was to quote himself "not bad for #2 DRIVER"

Something in which IMO, Hamilton has not had the benefit of.

    Since we're all naming;

Favourite drivers: Hamilton, Alonso, button then after that open to whoever proved themselves (Riccardo this year).

Most 'disliked' drivers: rosberg (bothering me much less than he did earlier this season), kimi and Maldonado (more funny than anything).

I wonder how much having a designated number 2 helps. Too hard to quantify. personally I don't think we need nor want team orders.

IMO it is a quite a big thing not to have to think about your teammate trying to nail you on the first turn :)

Am not a big fan of team orders personally, but I can fully understand the why's and wherefores why teams adopt them.

I didn't write that Sebastien is an average driver, I wrote that he is an outstanding driver. My comment that I didn't want him in the Scuderia was premised on Fernando still being there. Luca's remarks just reported have persuaded me that he is leaving. Why? Because the two developed a close personal friendship during the years together at Ferrari.

The chaos is coming. New chairman quoted as saying Ferrari "will kick ass" in Formula 1. A really classy guy. Can you imagine LdM using such a phrase publicly?

New and different tone to this Company, one that may be close to disgusting, in the strict sense of the word: tasteless. I fear that the sense of class is going if not gone. Big show in Beverly Hills to celebrate Ferrari's 60 years in America. Everyone expecting it to be Luca's farewell to American Ferraristi and hundreds here attended in order to meet him and wish him well; and Sergio tells him he cannot attend.

    Classy.
