    Hello All!

I am a model car collector and a bit puzzled. I know about the lovely Ferrari 375MM that is owned by Jon Shirley that was commissioned by Roberto Rosellini with its lovely curved trunk and rear window. Yet when I am on ebay I also see an Ingrid Bergman 1954 375MM which has a completely different rear design that looks a bit like a hatch-Back with two distinct fins along the trunk. Can anyone shed some light on this? Did Ingrid have one and Roberto had one as well? I am thinking of buying a model of the Jon Shirley car but was curious about the other car?

    Cheers!

375 MM s/n 0402AM, rebodied into a coupe by Scaglietti.

375 MM Berlinetta Speciale by Pinin Farina s/n 0456AM.

Both were owned by film director Roberto Rossellini, who was married to Ingrid Bergman. Neither was really "owned" or regularly driven by Bergman.

Isn't the color Grigio Ingrid named after the original color of 0456?

Thank you all for this! I will probably Buy the s/n 0402AM model as I think it is the nicer of the two cars IMHO. Of course this purchase will be in 1/43 scale as the real one would cost CONSIDERABLY more...LOL!

    Cheers and Thanks!

Anyways, it is one of my favourite Ferraris. Saw a segment with this car in a one hour Ferrari program on cable. Wonderful exhaust note

    Geno,

Is it at MPI? I saw the King Leopold car there a few years ago when they restored it. I've got to get down there again someday and drool over what they have.

I have no reason to question your superior knowledge but I took some phptos of #0456 at Pebble Beach in 1994 when the car looked to be painted in Argento. I then saw it at the Ferrari 50 celebrations in Modena in 1997, when it was most definitely Grigio Ingrid.

I spoke to the owner [WC] about this 'colour change' and he said that it had not been repainted between the events but that Grigio Ingrid appeared very different in different light. At Pebble Beach it had been in bright sunshine, whereas in Modena it was in a slightly shady square, parked on gravel.

Before anyone asks, I will try to find the pictures to post.

Here are some pix I took over the past 23 years.
Photo 1 taken at Parc de Bagatelle, Paris, France, 7 September 1991.
    Photos 2 and 3 taken at Pebble Beach, CA/USA, 28 August 1994.
Photo 4 taken at Rome, Italy, 31 May 1997 (with Luca Cordero di Montezemolo in the door).
    Photo 5 taken at Neenah, WI/USA, 14 March 2006.
Photo 6 taken at Pebble Beach, CA/USA, 21 August 2011.

In September 2008 the right front fender was damaged due to operator error (during the Colorado Grand).

Never cared much for 0402AM. 0456AM is however one of the more striking cars baring the Ferrari badge.

    Marcel,

Thank you for these great pictures ! As you know, this car is still very high on my wish list !
I guess you had different cameras during those 23 years, which explains the differences in color from one photo to another ? has the car changed color during restoration at Neenah (Motion Products ?) ?

edit : I think I've found part of the answer. In fact, the color can be very different between two images, such as for the Colorado Grand in 2008 : http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/139289167-post33.html (pics 4 and 5)
