    when I am looking at the classified ads on here I keep seeing the word bump. Can someone tell me what that means. Thank you.

    Threads are date sorted by the date/time of last reply - so an advertisement thread with no replies gradually falls down the page, and when on the 2nd page they hardly get any views.

    So, the original poster will reply to his own thread so that a new reply raises it to the top of the thread list where it will get more visibility. The original poster is 'bumping' his thread to the top of the page, thus the term 'bump'.
