Most of the time rolling up to a red light and sometimes on freeway off ramps.

    Good answer!

For me, almost never. I suppose I pop it into neutral and apply the handbrake if I'm going to be sitting somewhere for a while. No need to put it in neutral at a stop.

I've learned to wait until I've come to a complete stop in my CS. I used to pop it into neutral coasting up to a light, but sometimes if you're almost stopped (1-2 mph) and the light turns green it doesn't want to go back to 1st without a full stop and the brake on. It's happened a few times to me and I was worried about getting rear ended.

Why? You wont hear the engine at idle. Unless this is to give it a big rev.

Funny... I never shift into neutral. At stop lights/signs, I'll downshift to 2nd and let the car decide when to go into 1st and when it's time to go, foot off the brake onto the gas and off I go.

When I park the car, I shut it down while in gear and the car automatically starts in neutral.

Ditto, although I let the car downshift from 3rd.

Does it preserve the clutch on an f1 trans to put into neutral? Prior owner told me he did so for such reason. True?

I drive a manual car as a dd. Do I go through all the gears when coming to a stop, no. Does this save the clutch and g.box, no. It just saves a whole lot of unnecessary gear changes. Sometimes in my 360 I shift down all the way to 1st before the F1 does it, just for fun! But usually I just flick it to neutral approaching a stop.

I leave mine in neutral when it's in the garage, with the handbrake on sometimes. I do that just incase I need to move it a few feet, that way I don't have to start it for a few seconds, and move it for a few feet. I did put it in neutral just once at a light when some high schoolers wanted to hear the engine rev.

When I am at a red light and I know the light takes a while to turn green I would put mine in neutral so I can rest my right foot. I have an F1.
