Someone who knows if there is a way to tell the history on a specific car based on the Win number?
Is there a data base who can tell me which production number my car is in the line?
    Anyone else ever wonder?
    Thanks
    Mikkel

Hi, Mikkel - that VIN is not long enough. From the looks of it, you're asking about a European Testarossa. However, there are not enough numbers near the end (and 309xx is about three years too early to be a Testarossa). It should be ZFFAA17B0000xxxxx. And since your profile says you own a 1987 Testarossa, two possibilities could be 72309 or 75309 - do either of those sound familiar?

Unless I am missing something Mikkel is in Denmark and DVLA is a UK government agency holding information relating to UK cars.

    Yes - 72309 - just as I anticipated.

This car was once white with black leather. It was stolen, in Frankfurt, in 1989. Then, in 1994, it was on display at the Essen Motor Show, shown by Cavallo, where it was red with black leather. A German company named Stallone displayed this car at the Techno Classica in Essen, in 1995.

Is it safe to assume that it's still red with black leather today? Also, I have the engine number as 00474 - can you confirm?

    Yes, correct. Thanks
I hope that's not stolen anymore
I have the German registrations certificate from the owner back then, dated 31.01.95 His name is Andrea Barretta
It's been traded at least 3 times since in Danmark alone.
Do you know when it's produced, (date, number in line)?

Beautiful! You have a beautiful Testarossa (one of my favorite Ferraris!). The registration is from Denmark?

It's not easy to pinpoint the car's exact build date, since European cars don't receive data plates that show the month and year that the car was built. However, based on other information I have, I think it's say to say that 72309 was built in May or June of 1987. Of the 7,177 Testarossas built, yours is relatively early - somewhere between 1,200 and 2,400.

I had HRE made a set of 18" rims
I think it suites the car with some bigger wheels, less rubber. It runs better too

    Thanks, yes it's Danish plates
It runs great. I have had it for four years now and never had any big problems. Only a flat battery and defect starter.
I have installed a Capristo exhaust system. The sound is awesome
