That's what a lot of people has been saying like forever, the 918 IS the benchmark. Apart from a meaningless 1 mile/2 mile/whatever mile drag race, 918 hasn't lost a single timing event yet.

But then again the McLaren flat-earthers might have some other things to say.

Why worry. Still 2 sec slower than claimed P1 time. But the most defeated would be the porsche.Having awd, 4ws, max torque etc would have lost on their native ground. But every benchmark must be beaten.

PORSCHE 918 as the Nurburgring Record holder is the only of the three can lapping under 7min, and at the time 918 best confirmed lap is 6:57!! (Record holder in the world)
P1 best record is 7:04 (confirmed by one of the most reputable sources in Nurburgring)and that 7:04 achievement for Mclaren is a good result for P1, I heard that P1 fighting very hard for several days for achieving a record of under 7:10.

    Acceleration for Standing Km 18.2 at 180.4mph for 918 VS 18:2 178.5mph for P1,
Ok this means 918 was faster it is because 918 needs 18.2s for 180.4mph, P1 needs 18.2s for 178mph.
By the way 918 beat P1 in this test with only one set of tyres!! Unbelievable!!

    From Auto Car:
    Dry Circuit: 918 Record 1min5.7s VS P1 1min6.8s
Auto Car Text: Two astonishing things about this: one, How much faster than P1 THE 918 IS! Two, That it completed all of its tests on one set of tyres!!

What's mindboggling is how the p1 is faster in the wet.

    HaHaHA... Are you joking man?
Remember that 918 used only one set of tyres for the whole test!! 918 is faster than P1 in both Dry and wet circuits!

1min 5.7s(918) VS 1min 6.8s(P1) and 918 with only 1set of Tyres, Kudos to PORSCHE

First of all both EVO and TOP Gear confirmed that the 918 is faster in wet circuits too,
Also as one of the famous P1 fan boys posted here at this forum many times, nobody cares about records in wet conditions (I remember he said this to does of 918 fans who predicted that 918 must be faster in wet circuits!)
Please be assured that a new set of tyres can easily change the result in wet in favored of 918! Any how I am %100 sure 918 is faster in both dry and wet conditions!
But again as that diehard P1 fan indicated several times at this forum nobody cares for a record in wet condition, but the records of dry circuits go to the history!!

from one mag to another, different conditions give diff numbers, but the TREND is the same: 918 is quicker in straight line and on track, brakes better, much more stable chassis, more mechanical grip...

in this Auto Car you can find that in the drag race at straight line for standing Km 918 was faster because of top trap speed of 180.4mph in 18.2s but P1 178.5mph in 18.2s
this indicate that 918 is faster even at 0-180mph!!

    No.

More important: P1 was meant to destroy all comers on road and track, especially track. 918 destroyed P1. Fact.

3 H2H, 3 easy wins for 918. Only people surprised are the cultists.

The 918 is fast, but the vid shows how fast the p1 is in the higher speeds.

Both are fast, and like I said before different tracks and different conditions will suit certain cars more.

The wet results are really surprising though, didn't expect that at all

Sounds like it could be a result of the tyres? 918 stuck to the same set throughout the test, P1's might have been changed to optimise the results for each test? Can only speculate though given how bad the P1's last wet track performance was.
