tks you Olivier!
Thanks Colin is actually doing the work! When I spoke he thought he had an old sketch of the counter weights. I have asked if he knows the torque on the spring. However measuring an old spring may not work as the torque is so small that wear could throw it off very easily so wanted the exact torque. Anyone? I have electronic ignition fitted for the car and would love to get rid of these old wearing parts! Regards Paul
Hairsprings, Direct online from British Precision Springs, largest range of stock Hairsprings I suspect that they will have springs that should work!
Well good. From what I've heard I'm certain he can figure all of this out for you. So you've already eliminated the points or just added ignition boxes? Pertronix works with those as well. Or do you want to eliminate the advance mechanisms as well? I know I'd like that. The first thing I did was make certain the advance mechanism was good on mine. Then I did the conversion. MSD has boxes (you'd need a pair) for electronically controlling your advance yet retain the distributors. But 4 MSD boxes is a lot of boxes ... As for the details and parts availability for the advance mechanisms when I did mine I didn't have to face that but I didn't KNOW that at the outset. So I spent some time in the Ferrari sections here and found threads about people who were doing all of this. I also found a couple of rebuilders and was able to speak frankly with one of them. This guy's opinion was that it was very difficult to calibrate the advance curve and have it stay as exact as probably most of us would like. The units he gets in for work are almost always in much worse and out of spec condition that their owners realize. So if you come across a new unit like the Pertronix that also controls the advance please let us know. I like the original look otherwise one can just ditch the distributors, go for an all digital system and really make the thing work right all the time. Best of luck.
Roberto Thanks for that. I just replaced the points and put two ignition boxes in. I have an MSD box on my QV and still have the advance and retard issues and wear. I will speak to Colin and check all this out. Regards Paul
Well here's one of them two 6cyl units would work I suppose? MSD Fixed Curve Timing Computer http://www.jegs.com/InstallationInstructions/100/121/121-8981.pdf
Found this from Hemmings blog. SIA Flashback Family Flyer: Espada-Lamborghinis foremost V-12-powered Four-Seater with 8 pages magazine story. Hope this isnt repost.
Looking for a nice driver condition Espada in the US. Please let me know... Thanks a lot. Rick [email protected] or PM me here...

I saw you over on the New VLG website but you need to register on the Yahoo Groups one as well. Have you done that? It's a clunkier website and people seem reluctant to move??? So far the Yahoo one has the most traffic so there might be more potential folks there who know something about the car. Check on both. Jim Fox, he's on there, might have some USA specific info on it?
Will do! Always hesitant to join anything yahoo, they have all my life details ahh, but will check it out. You are right, vintagelambo.com is a slow one. I'm finding this chat here to be a huge resource and has helped me learn these cars, at least from a reading standpoint. Thanks very much
You'll do far better on VLG Yahoo as long as folks chime in. No guarantees but there are quite a few folks who know a thing or two about vintage Lamborghinis on there from all over the work. Ferrarichat is another great spot too though. I'm here a lot as well. Jim Fox was the first to give me the info on mine and Philippe Muratori is on both as well. he sometimes has info on a car. There's also the Lamborghini Registry, now a pay for site, which you might want to sign up for while you're looking. I haven't been there in years so I don't know what it's like now. I used it when researching cars prior to the purchase of mine.
Agreed VLG. I have 3 Lambos and all are continued rolling works in progress. I have not read a lot of the posts but I do see the thread titles, knowing I will be back to read when it's time for that particular work. I'm just so grateful for all the Urraco things on there as of late. The place is a godsend for Espada and Jarama owners. Yeah, maybe one day everyone will move but I think it will take freezing the site for people to go.
There are quite a few email subscribers who like it that way. It's also a free website, well Jack pours his heart and soul into everything Vintage Lamborghini so free is the wrong expression. The new Yahoo interface is terribly clumsy, just awful in my view and most others. Photos and attachments are far easier to post now. If you're only an email subscriber then you don't notice any of that.
Jack is an absolutely great chap, not only because of the VLG homepage he operates, but also because he has taken enormous efforts in writing down documentations about reconditioning jobs that he did with components of his car (I do not recall how many 100 kilo miles he has driven with his vintage Lambo, he uses it and knows how to keep it reliable). These documentations are for free download at the site and are better than any workshop manual I have ever read for whatever car, just amazing! Aside this, he is an extremely kind and helpful person.
Hello Espada people, I need to find the Espada carburator air filters. Where do you guys get your part in the US? Thanks! Rick
That's what I'm using. So you got a car? There's also Baldwin PA2093 http://www.adiesel.com/baldwinfilters/PA2093.html
yes! pretty excited. took me a while to get it going but it runs like a champ. Was in the back of an 83 year old's garage, buried. Heated garage though, in Mid Atlantic. No rust. Thanks to DSila and his outstanding networking abilities... I will post pics of the new rig shortly... Thanks for the past help, staatsof. Rick
