Even though a few details do not seem to be right. The washers in front should not be the flat one, should it (for a 1977 one). Anyway, if it is an old advert....
Hello guys, does anybody of you have an installed microphone in the front center console? I was never interested in the stuff that is located in the center console like the climate controls etc. I deactivated the climate compressor anyway.... that is why it happened that I ignored all these little things down there for a long time. Recently I started to clean the car more thoroughly and found a microphone (to my surprise). It is installed on the right upper part of the center console and can be taken out while being connected to sort of a mechanism you find on the automatic dog leashes. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/images/icons/icon10.gif Does anyone of you have this cool feature as well? You know which radio was attached to it? (Köln or Bamberg) Cheers, cal
More progress photos on my 76. Still need to install correct wheels, finish the radio restoration, lots of small shakedown items now that we can road test, but it is 95% complete! Some interior photos. Note blue carpet, period installed Clifford alarm system. Great fun to drive; I took it around the block, can't wait for a longer trip! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes the microphone is installed in all '76 and '77 930s. The Blaupunkt Bamberg allowed drivers or passengers for that matter, to dictate (record) information on the tape cassette. '78 and later 930s omitted the microphone...note the radio tuner just above the center console, also part of the Bamberg unit. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Some photos of a 77 turbo for sale during Automotodepoca in Padova last week- end. Italian delivery, restored in Germany. A few details to improve
Hello ersatzS2, currently I am not planning to sell it...try to keep the car as original as possible.
Besides, I am really curious where the price is heading to for the 930 of Magnus on ebay. Some disadvantage might be that I think his auction is not shown in Europe (at least Germany) .... the auction does not appear as search result here...that will possibly limit the price potential.
Links are always helpful: Porsche 911 Turbo | eBay The Seller describes it as a great driver quality car (that after rebuilding the engine, suspension, replacing windscreen & more). Interior & cosmetics still need attention. After 30+ bids, high bid is $111,099.
Well, the auction finished at $111.099....seems that the price hike is not continuing to raise. Even with the need for some work on the car, the real expensive things on engine/ transmission were done already.

I detect a distinct cooling-off in the marketplace in some areas, something I could adequately describe as an Autumn Chill. Lets hope it doesn't progress into a Frozen Winter.
Spring and summer may follow. Autumn chill correction time, well, OK. If it goes into a winter mode maybe a good time to get a deal. I'll be keeping mine for awhile so no difference. Actually a friend who has had his one owner ( original as delivered ) new in 1978 with 33K miles thinking around $140K to a few who inquired previously just said since the Panos article is out the phone is ringing way more often. This is the other 79 930 that the local Porsche dealer got that year. His other was the under 200 mile previously discussed that Marshall Goldman had listed for 2 days as no photos available and the ad removed.
Not trying to downgrade things here but.. was this car really that nice?? I mean 100k seems reasonable but 150k? Id say this was a 100k car with 11k added for celebrity ownership. Still plenty of 3.0 930s selling in the 150k range. Just not this car.
This one that sold recently was a bit amazing to me (sorry it's not a Turbo) ... Porsche 911 US Carrera | eBay
I have a complete original early Turbo tail available for sale if anyone is interested. PM me for details. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think you are right.... except of mechanics the car was not in a tooo brilliant condition - from the photos already - looking at it life would most probably recover more to do's for getting it to an excellent condition. In addition selling these models on ebay seems to be a disadvantage in some respect. I am located in Germany and could not find the car with a regular search. obviously ebay just decided not to list this item in Germany. That limits to draw attention of potential buyers.... moreover here in Germany, once a car exceeds a certain value, people tend to get it from a dealer or specialist instead of ebay or some car portal. The clientel becomes more conservative and they rather pay another 10k more getting the car from a "reputated" address. What do you think?
Details of the Bischoff muffler that was removed from my 1975 Turbo in the mid-1980s (please excuse the dirt and oil). It is dated November 1974 and although this date may seem early, Bischoff may have manufactured a large patch of mufflers for the 930/50 engines in late 1974. The Porsche factory workshop manual only shows an exhaust tip on the 930/50 engine diagram (see images below).
