Nightmare!

To get my 612 door open when the battery was dead, I was told by FoW to put my full weight on the door to get it under the weather stripping. Probably harder the other direction but maybe worth a try. Kill the battery cutoff and go get yourself a dirt cheap charger and clamp it to the battery directly. You'll get it charged.

 

Doesn't Mass have a used car warranty law when purchased from a licensed dealer?

Okay, then the next options include:

1) Tie up the latch mechanism on the door to the latch mechanism on the B-post to hold the door in a closed position.

2) Place a soft blanket/quilt over the car where the door sections are and then strap the doors closed from the outside by running the strap under the car, over the doors and across the roof (NOTE: Do not over tighten the straps though!)

3) Tape the door shut with masking tape all around the rear and bottom edges of the door (use plenty of tape and then run some tape a few times right the way over the roof and back underneath the car. You could use Duck/Duct tape but I'd be worried about damaging the paint work! - At least masking tape should be safe on the paintwork!)

4) Sit inside the car during transportation either holding the door in a closed position, or better still, with the door strapped to the steering wheel to save you having to hold it (NOTE: The driver probably won't let you do this on health and safety grounds though!)

Hang tight. Congrats on the purchase. Honestly I avoided an F1 type to try and save some on maintenance. You will get this fixed so don't worry. NE Ferrari did my alignment after the major this spring. They will take care of you. Turn the battery switch off and keep charging the battery until it starts to take. I had a battery cable come off on my maiden voyage back at home here after purchasing the car and transporting it back from Long Island last fall. Some kid must have screwed up down there. It was mounted all wrong! Then the wait for insurance and registration was MURDER! It took a month but I had several drives before the snow came. Take care and maybe we can meet up sometime mid state? I am at my mileage limit but have a new driveway bridge ramp and a wheel and tire package on the way before winter I just renewed with a higher limit so I guess I'm good. Are the power locks the problem closing the door or the window seam?

Once you get the battery issue resolved, all should be fine other than the F1 issue.

Don't blindly replace the clutch. Have the F1 problem properly diagnosed by someone capable, not over the internet. Typically, a worn clutch causes the transmission to slip into neutral during shifting. You were getting an F1 warning that may point in a different direction. Only someone capable with proper equipment can tell and fix your car.

Replace those expensive parts first, then figure out the problem later
