Maybe in 5 years when they're more affordable and ineligible for the series.

    damn those economics....

I'm still trying to figure out why IMSA didn't just adopt GT3 specs instead of their weird GTD specs. I think a lot of their problems could have been avoided doing that. at a minimum, teams could do full PWC and cherry pick IMSA races, or vice versa; now it's choose one or the other, or spend boatloads on multiple cars/parts kits, etc.

Sorry if I missed it, but is Ed Brown pulling the Patron team out of TUSCC and if so is Patron going to remain a sponsor for the Tudor Series?

I think they're going to do some/all of WEC and the NAEC, and my suspicion is remain sponsor of the NAEC.

Pretty soon PWC is going to be overpopulated and run like crap and everyone will look for a different series to gravitate towards.

I remember PWC being more popular years ago when it was on speed.

the opposite argument could be made that PWC is putting themselves in a position to have an entire grid of nothing but GT3 cars, as opposed to their current multi-class format. the other classes (GTS/TC/TCA/TCB/whatnot) could then become a support series to a support series.

also, I wouldn't be surprised if some Conti Tire ST teams ended up switching to PWC GTS, etc. for the same budgetary reasons. IMO at 2.5 hours, Conti races are too long (in some cases, longer than the headlining IMSA race the same weekend!)

I sat in on a conference call with PWC management plus a team owner and Johnny O'Connell last week.

It seems PWC is poised to steal more entries from the GTD field. The organization saw the opportunity a couple years ago when Grand-AM and ALMS merged and pounced on it.

They're making progress in having more headline races (as opposed to supporting Indy) and also more TV exposure for the GT class which makes it more attractive to owners. Going from being the low rung in TUSC to the featured class in PWC seems like a logical choice for teams to jump ship.

More good stuff on the way for PWC.

Good news. I really like PWC i always have. It needs more recognition. We need a good series here for some weekend warriors like the old days.
