I have no explanation for it other than that is all there is due to attrition or whatever. The document does state the recall is for 355s not in FNA control which could mean cars at dealers I suppose but that was issued in 2009 so how many realistically were at dealers even in 2009 if the recall is correctly parsed that way?

It is a mandatory safety recall in the US so in my mind it was carefully and correctly applied to all 355s in FNA territory.

SO...yes your 355 is indeed a rare breed!

Would anyone like a true number of how many F355's are left in the USA with a state by state breakdown?

When I owned a RX7 many moons ago, we paid a data collection company around $500 to retrieve a state by state breakdown of how many RX7's were left.

    Here is the company: https://www.polk.com/

Here is what they provided us.

Good question I have seen a cpl high mileage ones being parted out on Ferrparts website alone that were not totaled. I would think they have parted out a lot of damaged ones too. I have seen some pretty mangled bodies on Ebay for sale also. I imaging when it comes to being totaled some were a complete loss and had no value as a parts car.. It would be great to know how many are left

There is a reason why the 355 was the last Ferrari without traction control. A lot of them were spun around and wrecked.

One factor is probably that service/parts costs in the UK seem to be a lot lower than they are over here. If 355s had the running costs of 328s, they would probably be priced similarly.

25% seems reasonable. Back in the 308 days it was approximately 30% US and since then the world market has expanded. Middle East, Russia, China have been big growth markets. US probably has a disproportionate share of spiders.

95's excluded were early cars with dual fuel pumps. They did not have the fuel distributor that the single pump cars have.

I agree that 25-30% for US would be about right.

By the time you exclude the cars which have been totalled, parted out, or just left to rot, and then take out the cars which are running but have been poorly looked after, there probably aren't actually that many really good 355s anywhere, even in the US.

    Eric,

We should take up a collection to do this! Probably $10 per 355 owner on Fchat (50) to do it. Seems like a good public service for current owners.

    I'm in.

See if they will do it. Can they break it down by model or just year?

I'm pretty sure they can break it down by model. There might be extra fees for added variables. I would gladly pay $10.

I just sent Polk an email. Will let you know their options.

For me that recall number from 2009 is good enough.

I like your thinking Bob. Common sense approach. 2625 NA cars. Sounds about right. Say 2500 allowing for wrecks and fires.

Early is a relative term. You must have a single fuel pump, not duel.

The registry shows 2312 cars in the USA. I find it really hard to believe that out of 2625 cars made, 2312 have made it into the registry.

Again, not sayin it's not so, just seems a bit hard to believe. I hope it is correct, since out of the 529 F1 GTS's, that would mean maybe 100 are in the US and maybe 5 Black/Beige are here :)

    I have a 95,
    I got several notices,
We looked at it at the last major
And decided not to do the service
    because parts were not available
    Except through a Ferrari dealer.

And, yes, my car is still on the road.
