I think I figured it out. Only F355's with a spare FOB are commanding big money.

Eric, it's an under 10k mile, red/tan GTS. As every day goes by those get harder to find.

Was looking at his web site. Saw black keys and confused them with the fobs.

Go for it Dave. It's only $90k. I've noticed that he hasn't sold many 355s this year. Most on Cars.com have been there a while. I guess he's letting the market come to him. Almost bought a car from him 3 years ago while I was in FL. He was in New Port Richie then. Something came up and he broke the appointment. Wanted to ship the car to me, have me test drive it and if I didn't like it ship it back. I told him it would be cheaper for him to fly me down there and back. He said no.

He has a 2014 Jag F type roadster too and 8 other 355s, a few 360s and a bunch of 430s too, and a few others as well.

All of his coupes sell eventually, sell prices unknown, asking prices very high. Some come back to him to be sold again via trade or whatever else reason. This guy knows what he is doing it appears when it comes to 355s.
Most of his spyders sit for a while.
An FCHAT member just bought a Red 355F1 Coupe from him this or last month. It was for sale at Carbine Motors in New Orleans, asking price 55K in May of this year. I happened to be in New Orleans in May so I called Carbine for a look at the car. Chris stated he just sold it the day before and two weeks later it was for sale at Black Horse for 77K. The car had a recent major and full aftermarket exhaust done by Lindsey Auto . Buy it, ship it, flip it, from what I have seen on that particular car. Don't get me wrong it is a dam nice car but 70+ when I could have got it for high 40s cash, no thanks. FYI the 98 Rosso Barchetta color coupe they bought last year from Audi of Charlotte for low to mid 40s. This is the second time they have listed it in 2 years. I watch the market very closely so if you guys need any info on certain cars I am happy to help. I don't know anything about this 96 though.

Agreed. I inquired at one point about a low mile berlinetta. Couldn't make a deal on it as his ask was 18k over his purchase price.

His argument was that it didn't matter what he bought it for, only what it's worth. I agree it's worth what it's worth but knowing what kind of mark up was in it made it impossible for me to feel OK with paying anywhere near what he was asking.

Agreed, we are on the same page here as I imagine most of us are.
Have patience, stalk the Internet for the right car, get in first on a great deal and pull the trigger. Why pay 60+, or EVEN 70 + when it's only a matter of time when you will find the right one for 40s or 50s. Now if you have plenty of money in your piggy bank (I don't) and you can't be bothered with waiting, buy it and drive it.

No offense, but that's business. He probably works pretty hard to find the deals and that cool in my eyes.

How many guys bought icon Ferrari's for $50k and sold for $20 mil? Worth has zero to do with purchase price.

Again, I'm not saying it does, but knowing I could have hit the BIN on ebay the day before and saved 18k is a mental road block I couldn't get around.

Yes and the exhaust sounds incredible......I thought my 95 355 with test pipes and OXST exhaust screamed........this custom exhaust is ridiculous.
I guess I paid 20k up charge for the sound I was looking for.......Im ok with that ;-)

I have to say that I could care less what a dealer pays for a car. If it's the car I want and the price is right I would buy it. The dealer takes the risk and is entitled to the rewards. God bless capitalism. I recall 3 years ago I was looking at a car in Road Island. It was a Verde Silverstone 97 spider with an ask of $50k. I was supposed to go see it but when I called to confirm it was gone. Turned up at Black Horse for $77k fully serviced.

Black Horse has come a long way in 3 or 4 years. He used to work out of an office in New Port Richie. Now he has a show room in Naples. His prices seemed to have gone up by about 30% since the move. Must bee al the over head. :)

Good for them for taking these cars, getting them serviced, and fixing all the small things to make it perfect again. You can tell from the description and pictures that they know what 355 buyers care about. Complaining because you didn't get it at a bargain and ignore the needed service is ridiculous.
That's like saying you would never buy a stock that once sold for 20 percent less because the value is constant and it's now overpriced.
Either way, I think anyone that sells a 355 now will be kicking themselves a few years from now.

Most of their cars look to be nice examples. This one also looks good. The market always dictates where the prices fall. So if he can support his costs and stay in business - more power to him.

But all things being equal why pay an extra $20k for a car w/ ultra low miles unless you don't plan on driving it? I don't get it. A well sorted and maintained 30k mile car runs just as well as a 10k mile car. A fool and his money are soon parted.....

All things won't be equal on a 8.5K mile vs. 30K mile car. It's simple wear and tear.

I really don't understand why people just don't get this concept and I mean no offense by that.

When I was looking I wanted (and bought) a sub 10K mile car. It was nearly perfect. So, if I drive it 20K over the next 5 years, I'll be at 30K total. If I started at 30K, I'd be at 50K. That's a big deal to me. And, I really doubt any 30K mile car would have been in the condition mine was / is unless it was extremely cared for (which can happen) or the interior had work such as recovering seats, etc.
